If you get out and make a day of it theres no need to kill your self on hills. Just pootle up and enjoy the view at the top. Canna beat it.

Regular haunts which all fairly close to home. Hurstwood into hebden bridge. Rivington and darwen areas. Deerplay, clown ridge. Hapton. Gisburn forest and lee by way of trail centres. Then opportunist one off visits on my travels.

Tyne valley, Hexham area fells & moors, North Tyne & Kielder are my local rides. But as I've only been properly riding for a little over a year I'm keen to practice crash-avoidance anywhere I can. I am too crabby and ancient for fast recovery, I like chilled rides but with a reasonable challenge. So with a 2 hour drive being a good limit for a day ride I have a wide choice of playgrounds, from 7stanes to N.Yorkshire or the Lakes. Done a bit of all of them, and am happy to say I'm leaving less and less blood to mark my passage!

Now if we can only make him understand that Lycra is NOT cool ....he might actually look the part as well !!
