Looks cracking, nose that saddle down a bit or it'll be a pig on hills Cheers Step. Saddle and post are temporary until I get the new remote for my dropper (should be tomorrow).

looks great buddy. they seem quite capable rigs tbh. showas you dont need to spend £5k to get a sweert ride. what you reckon your total costs were to build bud.
what is she weighing in at to for a 26" build. i did one last year and got it in at 31lbs.

Not weighed it yet - waiting until I've put dropper on. Cost wise I blew my budget..... Had set a £900 build cost but ended around £1300 as I got new carbon wheels and a new dropper instead of taking the Mavics and KS off my HT.

carbon wheels will drop the weight buddy. looks sweet so for £1300 its a bargain as what else can you buy half decent for that.

Sorted my slack chain issue....
Guess who had installed the rear mech wrong.... Hadn't lined the notches correctly on the mount - doh!

Took it for a blast over the Chase tonight. Mainly the Blue with a couple of cheekies thrown in.
Things I like: -170 cranks feel spot on -Climbs better than I thought it would -Less cramped than my HT -Builds up speed quickly -Gearing 11-36 and 38/26 -Brakes have bedded in nicely over 11 muddy miles -Nano X pedals - grippy a f**k!
Things I don't like -Fox forks - bit clunky -Could have gotten away with a 125 dropper
Really liking the bike - enjoyed building it and think it should be fun to ride. Off over The Dog on Thursday evening with a few guys from work.
Things I need to tweek: -Brake lever & dropper lever position -Tyre pressures -Shock pressure -Swap spacer to lift stem up slightly

'climbs better than i thought it would' yes i thought the same on my first proper ride. cleaned a tough climb for the first time from widdop res. hebden bridge. i reckon any bike with all new components helps as everything is running nice and smooth, but yes im enjoying the mega. something i noticed instantly in comparison to my previous bike (cannondale rz) is how stable the mega feels on the fast loose rocky stuff.

Weighed the bike last night and had to amend my component spreadsheet as I realised I'd got a couple of weights wrong, final weight is 31.4lbs/14.25kg. So about 1kg more than I was thinking, but half of that seems to be taken up by inner tubes!

Well done on the self build, don't you think it gives a good feeling when you finally finished. Likening the wheels, been eyeing them up myself

Cheers Midge, yeah nice experience and a sense of pride/achievement when I build a bike.
The wheels are pretty good TBH, only done one ride so far but they seem to spin well and they look pretty cool to!

31.54 with standard nukey wheels, fox 34. ive changed stem to an heavier one so maybe 100grams more. ill recheck but they seem to pedal great up and with the 38 top ring mint down.
aiming to go 1x10 asap with a 36t front ring and 42 expander as wanna clear some crap out like left shifter, front mech, granny ring. dont realy use them, just there on silly steep climbs but 99% unused.

Thanks for the comments guys. Yeah a real sense of satisfaction taking a box of bits and transforming the into a trail smasher.
I did a lap o the Dog last night in quite possibly the worst conditions I've ever ridden in - mud, rain, puddles, mist, more rain, more mud and more puddles
It performed really well - only lost grip once and hat was because I took a wrong line and tried to correct.
My heart did sink a bit when I could hear everything grinding away due to the mud though lol.
No idea if I was faster than my HT (it felt faster - and smoother) as I haven't managed to get my ide uploaded yet as my laptop was being a knob.
