You don't see many Ti FS bikes about.. Good man! You don't tend to see many HT's either…but once you ride a Ti bike, you get hooked…at least i did. Even though the cost is now very comparable to carbon frames (cheaper than some premium ones), the issue is that usually they are not sold as full bikes, which makes them even more rare… I have a bit of OCD and like to research and learn about every component, match them up, etc…I've been to the doctor and he said there is still hope for me. LOL It will all be worth in the end.

That's going to be a truly lovely build - I hope I get to see it one day! On the saddles, I've got the Fabric Spoon replacement on the Bird and it is even more comfortable than the old spoon, good choice.

My plan is to go on as many rides as I can with you lot after so you will see it for sure...beginning of March time! That Fabric Scoop really does feel good when you touch it. As long as it is better than the Gobi, I'm happy!

Funnily enough, I was looking at the Kingdom Vendetta at one point!

Do it mate...Vendetta looks sooooo cool and the reviews are amazing...I spent ages deciding on which to choose, but one of the reasons why I sold my Van Nicholas was to get a bit more comfort on longer rides...otherwise it would have been a Vendetta. I'm sure Chris would also do a good deal for you. The properties of the material makes a special ride for sure...and when you get them cleaned, they just look lovely!

I'm happy with my current stable at the moment! Here's on of my Ti bikes and the one I most regret selling.. Was that the On One / Linskey frame they did sometime ago? It got outstanding reviews. I still say, HT's are more beautiful...it's the classy simplicity! Assume you don't ride Ti at the moment...do you feel some differences and what do you miss about it, if anything?

No.. This one is the On One built Inbred! I did have a Lynsky built 456 aswell though which was the one that got the outstanding reviews. First ever 5 out of 5 review on Bikeradar.. I don't ride Ti now, no. Believe it or not, the biggest thing I miss about my Ti bikes is how they looked when cleaned! The Inbred was polished and it shined in the sunlight. The 456 was a kind of matt brushed finish.

Yes...5 out of 5 stars...and you let that true classic go away?!?!? For a carbon frame? I bet you still cry at night? Lol...shame that team-up ended...before buying my Van Nicholas Tuareg I looked for one. The Hex gets 4.5 stars out of 5 from Bike Radar, so it should be good!

Yeah, swapped to a carbon 456 which was a big mistake! The carbon frame looked gorgeous and I built it into a lightweight beast but, it just wasn't the same! It didnt 'do anything' for me like the Ti one did!
When I was looking at the Vendetta, among other frames, I decided to stay clear of expensive frames and build/buy a budget HT instead. I knew that if I'd have bought the Vendetta or another Ti frame, I'd want a top-line build and I couldn't justify it really. Especially as I'd just finished building my FS which ran away with funds.

Especially as I'd just finished building my FS which ran away with funds. Know exactly what you mean...that's a "problem" with Ti bikes...they almost warrant top spec to go with them...mainly due to the fact that you want to build it as light as possible to compare with carbon but also because usually you will keep the bike for many years to come...myself, I know if I don't get exactly what I want in the first place, I'll end up spending more money sooner or later by buying it later...which is why this one is taking a bit longer... I've been to Planet X before and saw that exact frame...it does look great in orange and also another one I saw in red! Great value for money there...however my mate bought a Inbred 29er carbon the other day and when he showed it to me as soon as he brought it from the store, it had some very noticeable "dints" on some of the tubes...even the replacement frame had some! A bit worrying...also my wife's cousin actually works there as a mechanic.

Wow, nice component list you've got going on there. I've never heard of these Kingdom bikes. Be careful then...if you start to research about them you might just get hooked...both the Hex and the Vendetta II look and sound awesome! Lol They are a small company who started to build bikes for themselves and quickly grew. The thing I really like about them is the fact they really test their bikes with real prototypes to make sure they create really good Titanium frames, working with the properties of the material the best way possible.

Very nice will look forward to this being built up I love the Thomson bars and stem I run them on my five Thomson is classy, great quality and attention to detail...some movies on you tube about how they machine their stems and they are incredible...would love to get their Ti handlebars version but the cost is prohibitive...maybe for Xmas you should have a look at Uber bike components and their specific Thomson X4 bolt upgrade. I got mine in black along with the top headset one...looks great! (I got bored on my last bike and kept finding stupid upgrades to do on it!)

Some more goodies arrived today. Getting more and more excited! Hope Stainless Steel BB (as recommended by most people…thanks guys) - looks great and really well engineered as expected (even the box is cool). Really can't compare with cheaper plastic stuff from Shimano and i believe its worth the extra money. XTR crank - looks stunning and quite light…thanks to Merlin promo i got it at 160 quid…not bad considering its RRP. XT Ice Tech rotors - 160 and 180 and adaptor. These will receive some Ti bolts. Chris King headset - like the BB, i think its worth paying the extra money for great (the best) quality.

Some nice stuff there.. Why a Hope BB instead of a Chris King one?
I'd have thought CK would have fit this build slightly better than the Hope.

Some nice stuff there.. Why a Hope BB instead of a Chris King one? I'd have thought CK would have fit this build slightly better than the Hope. Weeks and weeks of research, talked to some people who had both and the bike mechanic who will build it, and everyone said the Hope is equally as good…for almost half the cost of the CK. I also like the fact that at least I'm supporting a british company on one component…because everything else is not. As much as i like Hope and trust their brand, ethos and quality, i just wish their designs were a bit less garish…less Race Face and more Thomson…if that makes sense.
