Ask them to look up how route the cables before they shorten them. Sorry can't help mention it again. It's a shame on such a lovely build for then to have have a weirdly shoddy job with that cable routing. It's a odd that a mechanic would make such a basic error of judgement to have 3 controls one side and one on the left. Lovely trim job on the Privett by the way. To be fair to him, the dropper on the right was my request...as much I understand what you mean in terms of routing, I know why they have done it that way...photo is not the best but the frame has 3 guides...the central one for the dropper, and one at each side...right for the mech, left for the brake...you either have it the way they have done it or get a crossing at the bottom if done the way you say. To be honest, if and when they shorten the gears and dropper cables, it will be much better. But I'll show you Monday. I can't take any credit for the privett...missus takes care of that...and she does it with a manual one??! crazy?!

For sure the dropper on the left makes it look much better straight away. My main priority is actually sorting out the front brake...hopefully just a bleed needed! And I'm going to reduce it to 10mm spacer under the stem to reduce the slackness a bit too. Thanks guys Just had a look at another Hex on Instagram and he has the cables exactly like Kirky says! Tomorrow ill speak to the mechanic at Evans to swap. Just a little tweak and it will get there...last push!?

Yes that's the same for most externally routed frames but I rarely see them routed this way unless they make a mistake. The bird zero frame I have is exactly the same. Like I said the cables go around the head tube and are tied to the outside channel. They one needs to come into the middle on the middle grip and the dropper starts goes to the right I would have the brake in the middle. Then on the rear guide the derailleur is on the outside right and brake outside left.

Which way do you prefer the look of? At the end of the days it's what you like that counts. There really isn't a right or wrong way as such. However as well as looks there's probably more chance it could catch on something and be pulled on that gear cable. Rather than the traditionally way there's no look so the cable just consorts and deflects rather than be caught and pulled.

I really don't see how any supposed bike mechanic could send a bike out with cables like that. ....have a word.

Still regret selling my 456 Agree with the Enve but not BOS....unless you mean me going out in a suit!? Lol....this new 34 Float FIT 4 is supposed to be awesome...and nothing beats the Kashima! As for the wheels, I need to keep my remaining kidney otherwise I would sell that one too! Lol Maybe one day...however I love the Crossmax and they weigh almost the same anyway! Mavic is developing a carbon version, hopefully with those spokes too!? Yes, silly idea of yours to sell a 5star gem! Off to the trails to get it muddy!

I'm not a Fox man myself and only ever owned one set. I love my BOSS Devilles, they feel like nothing else I've ever ridden with! I think I'll be sticking with BOSS for future builds! ENVE rims are nice, I got mine built up with CK hubs and as much as I love them, I wouldn't buy them again! I've always said that I only got them for the name and the fact I was building a 'dream bike'. You've done a superb job with this bike.. *internet high five*

Nothing crazy about it that badge is stunning. Bianchi have a nice badge like that. Nearly made me by one over another brand for the badge alone.

Just to add... Maybe this is just me being a bit weird but that headtube badge is amazing! I think so too...could only be better if the screws were not exposed...very regal! Thanks for the feedback on the wheels...like I said, if the weight advantage was much higher...the spokes on the Mavics and the way they are laced on the hubs is very intelligent and that's also why the roll so well! I hope their carbon version is good since surely will become much more affordable and available on most stores and you will probably be able to get Mavic's extra warranty too! Enve's look nice, but mainly for the graphics let's be honest!? Nothing wrong with that, specially coming from me who loves design!

GET THAT MUD OFF IT, IMMEDIATELY... Lol....it got a lot more muddier after...but its now clean...ready for tomorrow's ride...and get muddy again! LOL However today was a good day in Sheffield so hopefully the trails have dried up a bit more. Then needs to go back to Evans to get a replacement front brake and hopefully sort out the cables a bit further...they are on the right sides now but still a bit too long, in my view!

But they are still going to trim them a bit more!

seeig as we're still talking cables, the left-hand brake cable looks short in that pic as it wraps around the headtube when turning the bars left

Its the others that are not quite there yet....but the front brake will be a new one anyway...ive asked for a trim on the dropper and the shifter...

I think most, myself included, have said that it bike porn before adding a little comment that perfect it rather than detract from it's magnificence.

A few images of the Hex (quite a cool name btw) at Burbage Edge this morning...and cables are not perfect still but will stay to stay that way now! 20 min into the run and the dropper cable came off with the saddle half-way! Rotor was also not set right on the rear wheel and was always catching, squeaking and annoying me! One of those days that everything seems to go wrong! Hopefully all sorted now...Added the shock volume spacer which does help quite a lot! A very easy and intelligent solution. However I still think both the fork and shock have too many tuning options which I'm not sure I can really feel the difference. Best component is by far the Fabric Scoop Radius Ti Saddle...and the comfort of a FS is a delight!
