definately. the first thing you automatically put out to break your fall is your arm. theres been quite a number of times when iv had a comedy off and if it wernt for my elbow pads it could have been a hospital job. as long as they're comfortable....why not?

Never worn them, but I don't feel I need them for my trail centre riding. I have had my share of offs and otb's and it's been my shoulders, back and hips that have taken the beating so knee or elbow pads wouldn't of helped me. HOWEVER on my one uplift day I wish I had them as I was shitting ma pants, so if I rode that stuff more I would definitely wear both.

Just think back a couple of weeks to Nick's " off " on the Hawkshead ride for your answer ... I never used to wear any kind of pads...even going a year or so back ..now I wouldn't be without .

Yes I have elbow pads and they've come in handy. But recently they've stayed in the car. I might change them for something sightly less bulky.

I don't generally wear pads at all.
I'll put knee pads on for BPW but that's it!

That showed the potential difference really as I also had a couple of offs and my elbow pads were full of gravel and grazes rather than my flesh. having said that if I know I'm going on a pretty tame ride i used to go without any. I'm starting to elbow pads more often now. unlike knee pads which getting a comfortable one seems a little tricker, you don't tend to notice you are wearing elbow pads especially if you do t go for full on bulky types. Just think ink theyll had to the circumference of your arms making the gun show even more impressive?

I bought some cheap (£15) ones for a trip to the Alps, and was glad. Fell off twice, and once was a roll down a rocky hillside and the elbow pads took a hit.
Haven't worn them since mind ...

Don't bother on known and familiar rides, but always wear elbow and knee pads when out of my comfort zone (BPW, Degla, Whinlatter etc).
That's because I'm shit, mind.

PS the TLD Shock Doctors are my arm and knee protectors of choice - beefy enough without being uncomfortable. Cheap too. And they've got red in em

I bought some, wore them once and never used them again. Found them too uncomfortable. Always wear my knee pads though
