Yeah I have an MT 500 jacket ..first version ..fantastic Jacket but the Mk 2 is even better . Was looking enviously at one in wheelbase a couple of weeks ago ..still using mine but have to reproof every time it's washed these days

Yeah, I tried it and it looked awesome with great features...reviews are very good...but 160 quid is not cheap and opens other Gore Bike Wear options too!

Can't disagree with your logic ..Gore have been the benchmark for years ..but if it's good enough for Danny McG..I'm not going to argue .lol

My next jacket will most likely be Goretex, my current jacket is the Endura Stealth 2 and wile it is a good jacket I found that it needed to be re-proofed fairly quickly, that in its self isnt a huge problem but I never realised untill it was too late and I got a soacking which lead to a chest infection and missed a trip to BPW

I've had a Gore lightweight jacket for years ... "Windstpper" and waterproof, still looks like new, amazing garment really, and I'm well used to quality technical clothing from my climbing and hill walking days
Even in the middle of winter I'll be riding in it, just with an extra base layer if its boltic out !

Exactly...buy cheap buy it twice if not more. The Endura MT500 II gets AMAZING reviews everywhere. Tried it today too and it felt good, but so did the Gore ones where it looks like you can get better deals on the web. The pack lite one can be found for 100 quid (50 quid off)...the Endura is 161...I think I'll be giving myself a Xmas present

in case anyone is interested... factoryjackson.com/2016/01/25/mtb-waterproof-jackets-grouptest/looks like the Gore Power Trail and the Endura MT500 are the best ones. To make it simple, usually most jackets offer 10,000-15,000m waterproof and the same breathable value. The Endura is 18,000m waterproof rating and an enormous 64,000mm breathable. Cant find the values for Gore, but i believe they are as good if not even a bit better. Endura main advantages for me from the Gore are, the detail on the cuffs/hands with a fingerless sleeve/glove type and the helmet compatible hood, more pockets, little suede cloth inside the chest pocket for your goggles...all great touches. Wiggle were doing the Gore for 125 quid...Endura best price is 161 quid...that i can find.

Can you just buy the Endura then tell me if it's worth it?

Are you looking at the elements active gore tex?
I would only get a goretex version, just found one for 90£ problem is the largest was large but the gore stuff comes up small an extra large limit is 41" chest.

But I've tried them at the shop and M is my size...L could also be an option. Where did you see that John?

I am 41.5" chest...but I've tried both L and M at Evans and prefered the M fit...a bit closer to your body. You are defo not XL. I think I will wait for Black Friday or Xmas sale to try and grab a bargain, either on the Gore or MT500.
