Me mate has them. They're heavier than stans equivalent, but like someone else said, they're meant to be proper strong

^^^ What he said. To a certain point, ignore the stickers stickers, people, Internet etc. Mess with them to till they feel right. Experiment, have a play, fiddle and fart about until you find the settings that feel right to you. That's not 100% correct really mate. If someone weighs more they need to have volume spacers in etc. if they put 1000000psi in I can't imagine it being good for the fork like? When all they need is a volume spacer to stiffen it up i agree with ignoring the shite stickers and what people say you should have. I've got my forks hard as fuck lol

Lol some people ask daft questions Only you can decide if you need them I just wear knee pads, full face and neck brace for DH Some people wear body armour, shin/ knee pads, protective under shorts etc etc etc No such thing as a daft question, only daft responses. Cheers folks How was that a daft response?

Minion/Ardent but go for the DH R2 on the front. Very good tyre indeed. It corners like a DHF but with more braking grip. I thought the R meant it is rear specific or is that the point you are making by saying it will give more grip ?

I'll give my Zee's a good test at Inners at the end of the month, I used to have Deores on the DH bike but swapped them for the Zee's as the Deores would struggle on long DH runs. If the Zee's are as crap as people are saying then i'll buy another set of Guides as I know how good they are and then i'll only need one type of bleed kit to do both bikes. Gotta have matching brakes (or at least matching levers) on ya bikes like. U going to inners at end of the month like?

People are jumping on the avid guides band wagon because a couple of pros use them
End of story
The only people who complain about avids are the people who can't bleed them (me included)
I had avid code r's and they were better than my shimano zee brakes
And my hope v4s piss all over both of them.

They are quite costly. Guy is sponsored by Hope, so he will say they are the best..However, all the Hope stuff does get good reviews and they would probably be the brakes i would choose if i was building up a bike with no budget. Nothing can beat technique tho, you'd still be falling off if you were riding a 10k Santa Cruz! Yeah but the difference between having hope 4 pots and hope x2 brakes is MASSIVE. still cost the same pretty much.

Used Zee brakes for the first time today.. Didn't like 'em! As Betty said, bin them and get some Hopes or Guides! Tbf I tried some saints on my mates bike and they were so much better? I know it's a different lever, but isn't the caliper pretty much the same?

I've got a shorty on the front of the DH bike (got it off a mate to try) and it's spot on if I m honest. May be a bit too aggressive for xc tho, although I know some people do use them

I thought I would be doing myself a favour last year by buying and fitting a brand new pair of Shimano Zee brakes to my downhill rig...... I have had nowt but fecking hassle since the day I fitted the bloody things.. I am sure they were designed and made by the Devil himself.....
I have bled them countless times, but nothing seems to work... the lever is nice and firm after the initial bleed but within a few days it has gone spongy (more so the rear brake lever than the front brake lever).
I am beginning to think that air must be somehow getting into the system to cause me my grief...
I have tried every bleed procedure known to man, even tried the 5 min bubble bleed that is on Pink Bike..
think it may be time to invest in some new hydraulic hose/fittings....... have any of you lads/ladettes been using superstar replacement hose kits??? if so what is your opinion of the said parts?
I had them. Sold them after a few months. Fuckin awful even had 2 shops bleed them for me and they were still shit. Tried diffferent pads and they were still garbage
