yeah. ill service myself tbh but only upgrade i added is slik graphics in mega yelow and black and lok wicked. A Push tune is more than just a service and supposed to make the fork even better. The mechanic from TFT told me that in fact the fork can be a lot better if Fox were to change something inside, that apparently they are well aware of it but decide not to do anything...i guess they need to keep things for the next model. Apparently, after the Push tune where they replace a few things inside, there is a bigger difference between the 3 modes.

in case anyone is interested... factoryjackson.com/2016/01/25/mtb-waterproof-jackets-grouptest/looks like the Gore Power Trail and the Endura MT500 are the best ones. To make it simple, usually most jackets offer 10,000-15,000m waterproof and the same breathable value. The Endura is 18,000m waterproof rating and an enormous 64,000mm breathable. Cant find the values for Gore, but i believe they are as good if not even a bit better. Endura main advantages for me from the Gore are, the detail on the cuffs/hands with a fingerless sleeve/glove type and the helmet compatible hood, more pockets, little suede cloth inside the chest pocket for your goggles...all great touches. Wiggle were doing the Gore for 125 quid...Endura best price is 161 quid...that i can find.

I will never have one. I got into this Mtb business because I promised myself, my daughters and the wife a few years ago that I wouldn't have a motorbike anymore.

I haven't really researched this probably RC2 cause I am a bit of a bitch for buying the top of the range stuff Haha...they are both top of the range. RC2 doesn't offer QR axle and takes more time and knowledge to set up with the LSC/HSC tuning. The FIT4 has the 3 options (plus extra LSC on full open) and QR (making it a tiny bit less stiff due to the axle. Unless you are a pro, I'm not sure you can understand these changes. On my rides I tend to use the 3 settings so the FIT4 suits me well...plus I always need to remove the front wheel to store the bike inside the house/car.

Oh ok, fair enough. Anything above 150 travel should go 36's of course. Are you going RC2 or FIT4?

ive got new 34 fit 4s on my mega 150 travel. mint. my mate had x fusion sweep on his adjusted to 150 and just as good. £200 is a good used bydget but not near for new. £300 should get pikes. i paid £350 for my 34s new from pinkbike. Shit! You grabbed a HUGE bargain there mate. I paid 500 for mine also 34's Factory FIT4 150 travel...spoke to TFT guys who advised me when the time comes to service to invest the extra 30 quid to get the fork pushed because they say it makes a huge difference.

Exactly...buy cheap buy it twice if not more. The Endura MT500 II gets AMAZING reviews everywhere. Tried it today too and it felt good, but so did the Gore ones where it looks like you can get better deals on the web. The pack lite one can be found for 100 quid (50 quid off)...the Endura is 161...I think I'll be giving myself a Xmas present

Customer service is absolutely paramount sometimes, seems like Mojo have a good rep for that... Will be looking at Fox 36s in the new year and they will be my first stop Yes, to be fair TFT are also amazing and where I'll be servicing the shock and fork. Don't discount the new 34's...most of the times the 36's are way too overkill and the 34's are very very good and lighter!

Yeah, I tried it and it looked awesome with great features...reviews are very good...but 160 quid is not cheap and opens other Gore Bike Wear options too!

It will be hard for me to ever let go of Mary in the front of the steed!? I reckon High Roller II or Shorty on the back would be good too!

So, I kept it quiet but my Fox Transfer post had to go back. It was getting stuck in the middle and I found very early after installing it, an hairline scratch on the stanchion...obviously I was quite annoyed! But the scratch became worse and there was some other damage that seemed different than just a scratch appearing. Wrote a letter explaining the facts, sent a copy of the receipt and after two days they called me to say they have sent a new one. They put it down to extreme unluck if some dirt had made its way through the seals and maybe something during manufacture was not quite right too. Also explained about the lever which they also will send a new one. Great service and the guy on the phone (Steve or Chris) was amazing. Really attentious and spent a while explaining loads of stuff and giving advice. Very Impressed! I once also had a problem with a fork and Mojo sorted it out for free very fast.
However if you ask me, my honest opinion on which dropper is the best...I would say Thomson (if 125 drop is enough) with the Bike Yoke lever.

Very impressed with the Endura MTR...and for 30 quid they were a great find!? Today on my commute i got some spray and all was great. They are also very very comfortable, even more than the TLD Ruckus. They are however quite light and maybe not as good for the cold days.

There is a reason why Maxxis and Schwalbe are the market leaders. Maxxis especially have really thick sidewalls...which makes them really robust but a pain to setup, even compared to Snakeskin Schwalbes.

I said drops that you roll not that you jump. If you look on the first video around the 29-30 secs you see the drop followed by the jump...however it is a lot steeper and bigger than it looks...it also has more features like small jumps and berms that have been added and not on the video. Also the videos are a bit old so a few things got eroded I guess and more gnarly. However you get a feel. I guess you will have to come and ride it to see what you think. First time there I had no problems or issues and today I had two offs...I'm not saying it's easy at all (it's not specially because all those roots are usually damp, many off camber, etc...not many things there tiny John!) but it's a lot of fun!

Me neither but it's easy to see that if you ride it there often, your skills will improve rapidly because you can have a go at many things...even tough techy climbs, or just long fire roads. We probably did 12 miles only there and i can defo feel it (I also ride there and back from mine mind!?) and if you compare it with riding at the Peaks, you get a lot more rewards I think. I'm pretty sure John would like it there, specially on the new rig!?

14ft drop off, gap jumps, fuck that shit, I'm out. That's like dropping off a small house. John, it's all rideable and a lot of fun. I'm SURE you would love it and it really gets the adrenaline going and puts a massive grin on your face. Today we had a girl also riding, and ok, she didn't do many of the sections and walk a few but did a good part of it. I'm sure you guys would love it...except nemba maybe, which I didn't as well TBH. It's also great that you can practice getting airborne in safety (if you know what I mean!?).

Amongst the bargains at Evans were some M size Endura MTR shorts...34 quid but I had a 5 quid off code...these are supposed to be good in terms of waterproofing...fingers crossed they will fit me well!?

Big ride today again at Wharny. Started with a bit practice jumps where you have this straight run, roll over a 8ft drop, get a bit of speed and 4 jumps one after the other...
On one of the descents (Fast Track I think) right at the bottom, hit this wet off-camber big root a bit too fast and knew straight away how it was going to end...only to stop when the side of my head hit the only bit available to be hit...a nice stump of tree. Couldn't feel my ear for hours! Ouch! Later we went for nemba...no one had done it before...so off i went first to find this really difficult section in the middle where everyone was walking...but I tried not to be defeated and went for it...pass it at first and just as I was about to put a smile on my face, I believe my pedal hit something and I went from hero to zero over the bars and did a full somersault...apparently I fell in style! Lol We did 6 descents, and the last one twice. It's called Double Diamond and it is amazing...amongst other features there is a nice slab where you can properly get some air followed by a very quick and fast berm, then and very steep 12-14 foot drop where you roll ready for a nice gap jump in front...quick blast all the way down over roots, and small slabs, berms, etc. It really is super cool!
