Thomson does 31.6 and 30.9 but expensive of course! However, you pay what you get for!? that is often the case G but it seems that with dropper posts you can still get issues with the more expensive ones

seat tube is 31.6 so anything up to that size (with the correct shims) the mega doesnt have internal routing option so i dont fancy drilling it. i'll start my search from scratch found another SL and £40 cheaper.............mmmm im already suspicious, but its ordered

it turns out that im not retiring the GD yet! just recieved the GIANT SL. it turned up in an opened box, with no invoice and the screw for the lever clamp missing. apparently no others in stock for them to send another.so still looking for a replacement

yeah my first reaction was 'money grabber' i would think he signed a disclaimer, but being a solicitor he will be using his skill to find loopholes. but then i started to think. WHAT IF the instructor wasnt being as responsible as he should be? its each one of there word against the other.i dont think it stated whether it was a one-one or if there were other riders as witnesses. with a skill course you are expected to ride something out of your comfort zone otherwise you wont learn anything. its a sad situation from both sides

it does make it sound as tho that is the idea.but as you say that means you'll be wearing the wet muddy side on the inside after the ride.............gimmick me thinks

unless iv missed something i cant see anything about reversing it for after the ride neil. also me being a tight-arse iv never paid anywhere near £100 for a jacket. i reckon 50-60 quid (sometimes even less) usually gets a decent jacket.... talking of endura i found these yesterday for anyone looking for a bargain helmet. theres a few places selling them for the same price www.cyclestore.co.uk/endura_hummvee_helmet-ID_69054

Gravity dropper posts are made in USA, all mechanical magnet/ lever operated, spring return. Very reliable

after 8 years iv finally ordered a new dropper post to replace my gravity dropper classic. 8 years of very reliable service i'll be sorry to remove it from the bike. i would have ideally liked another one, like for like, but with a price tag of £240 and the possibility of having to pay import tax as well, iv decided to go for a GIANT switch SL at £170. i honestly hope the giant lasts at least half the life of the GD.

gonzalo it was the monsal head hotel jimbo i hope this helps.the first map shows the start of the golf course descent and the start of the manners wood trail, both where it says BALLCROSS FM. the tarmac climb to the start is the yellow switchback road which climbs out of bakewell. the second map shows the manners wood trail which isnt actually a bridleway.it then doubles back to coombs fm then the start/end of the monsal trail. the manners wood trail is nothing super technical but theres some bits that could catch you out (see gonzalos pic of me tangled in the undergrowth from yesterday) jimbo hope this helps. if you need any more help dont be shy

the monsal trail and tissington and high peak trails are all very similar in that they are all converted railway lines, mostly flat but theres the odd incline here and there. IMO the high peak and tissington and the section of monsal trail between monsal head and cheedale are more picturesque than the section of monsal trail between monsal head and bakewell. there isnt anything really exciting directly off any of them apart from manners wood between bakewell and chatsworth.the golf course descent is the best bit and it drops you almost directly back onto the monsal trail at the old bakewell station.that also means tho that you would have to climb up on tarmac to the top (approx 1 km) to the start of either manners wood or the golf course descent. i can do you a bit of a map to give you a better idea of where i mean.
