Cool, that time is perfect for me. I'll probably be in an old blue micra. I've spent the last few days stuffing myself with food and drink so it's probably taken its toll. Looking forward to getting out

Sorry you can't make this one...but there is always the next time . Is Hamsterley what you would deem to be within striking distance for you then Paul ?

It's looking like we'll be heading up there after all. The xc route included too much road riding

Nice one Paul. Will park in the main forest car park. The one where wood and wheels is. There is a bit beef with xc riders using descend car park at the minute. You need to turn right in hamsterley village instead of going straight through the village for the DH car park. Its signposted

Cogger & Steormy
The postcode is DL13 3NL I'm assuming that you will be A1/ A68 .... Once you near Witton -le-Wear the forest is sign posted off to the left on a " brown sign " ..should you not see my vehicle immediately then look for a small liveried Renault van with the Bike Place splattered all over it we will be somewhere near ..I think there are 5 poss 6 of our crowd going ..will be good to meet with you ...

Just back from what was a snow free ..but frozen in places splendid ride . My apologies first of all to everyone as for no reason that I can think of I was feeling more than a bit queasy for most of the ride which meant that folk were having to wait for me to catch up ( longer than usual!) It didn't spoil my enjoyment of the day though ..so I hope I didn't spoil yours too much ! It's funny how when you meet other mountain bikers for the first time there never seems to be an awkwardness ..and that was particularly so today ..from all of the riders who turned up today ..I only knew two the rest of our regular group being late withdrawals ..not that you would have guessed as everyone got on so well So my thanks to ( I will use forum names ) Lowcogger & Lee,Type R , Steormy ( and mate ..sorry memory loss for name ) , Russell , Alan ( mates of Ian & Ant ) Ant & Ian Bell . I really enjoyed your company & the day ! Cheers Neil

Yep,a cracking few hours out with you all,i'm sure we did far more mileage than stu's strava was showing. Speaking of stu he rode like a trooper all day on his collapsed reverb,he looked like he was riding a bmx finished off with a nice pint in the cross keys,i wonder if the young lad has finished his massive portion of fish n chips yet here's the official team photo, minus me but plus lee,my son in law. 20141230_124214 by firebrace, on Flickr
