Verrrry nice ! Looks a well thought out jacket ..and a bargain at the price with some nice features ...especially the grippy silicone print on the shoulders to keep the shoulder straps on your back pack in place .. I've not come across that before ..but makes sense Lucky lad
..Happy Birthday for tomorrow by the way !!

oooh I like that stu,i`ve just found altura night vision for about £80 but I don`t really want or need all the hi viz shizzle. how does this feel with it having a hood? due to me being a bit of a "no neck" I`m just wondering how I`d get on with it.

Cheers lads, it has some brilliant features and feels like it will shake off the odd tumble no problem.
Paul, only worn it round the house as of yet. The neck does come up to under my chin but I like it. Will definitely keep the wind and rain out. The hood doesn't feel too intrusive and I like the fact I can get it over my lid.

I'm really liking the look of this and it gets good write ups too. The shop's only in halifax which is only 40 minutes away from me so i might have a ride over at the weekend

It was the reviews that swayed me to be honest as they were all pretty positive

Ziptastic!
I've got an Altura mayhem which I am very happy with - yours looks good though too. Is the hood detachable? as I don't like riding with an emergency parachute behind my neck. The Mayhem's comes off and on pretty easy.

No it isn't detachable, could always stuff it between my back and camelbak if it pisses me off

Was a bit surprised on a 140 quid jacket, all the better then. Can't imagine using mine unless it's the worst possible weather.

Nice jacket but I wouldn't fancy tearing it on a branch or summit..

Looks a nice jacket I've had a jacket from the before.. A wind breaker... Wonder if it's the same company who makes the Madison flux saddle? Can't fault that either.

Nice jacket but I wouldn't fancy tearing it on a branch or summit.. I know, feels pretty robust to be fair but it'll probably happen sooner or later

Nice one Typer, been needing one for ages, but so many choices, and so little cash This looks like a no-brainer from all the comments. How is the sizing working out for you? Your link was for a Medium, is that what you got? I'm about 38" chest but 40" beer belly . 5"7" tall with normal non-gorilla arms. Usually always go for medium but the sensation that all my clothes are shrinking is becoming unavoidable.. Do I size up for a roomy fit and will that help the airflow/breathability? Please keep all answers polite please

Lol, yeah I bought a medium. I'm 5'8 with a 41" chest and the sizing is spot on. I always dread buying mtb clothing as the sizing is generally all to whack and its either too tight or too baggy. I'm normally a medium in most things so I was pleased when the size was spot on.

I went to the shop with the intention of buying one of these this morning but came away empty handed.tried the medium first but sleeves were too tight.tried the large but too tight under armpits.tried the xl and arms were fine but too big everywhere else. the search continues. leisure lakes are doing 2013 altura night vision, black only, for £40 with free postage. surely worth a punt at that price?
