Ok fair enough, I must have missed that one. I thought you were all over this one Pez ...? The Cumbria thread ... Midweek I'd have gone, bit gutted it's the weekend but I know that's what the majority want. I struggle to get a day pass at weekends - hence the Weds trip to Degla I'm doing instead. I will do this ride, on me tod if I have to, but it won't be this Sunday, unfortunately. It will be this summer though - perhaps you could make it and 'guide' the ride for me? |

Houston ..we might have a problem here !
I have just learnt that because my son pays a consessionary fare to travel the 20 miles to and from school every day ..that under the new school transport contracts that have just been awarded he has not been catered for with the new bus company ..only kids who qualify for free transport are !
This is a complete cock -up as 70.% of the kids on the current coach company's bus pay consessionary fares .
Having spoken to the head honcho at county hall regarding this ..he couldn't give two fucks ..it's our " problem"...so from the 1st June as things stand it looks as if I may have to transport my son to and from school ..two round trips of 40 miles a day ...you fucking couldn't make this up !
What I'm saying is that I may not be available in June ..unless this can be resolved ...

I'm bloody fizzing mate ..we are due a conversation with the current bus company tomorrow ..who we have paid anyway up until the summer break !
As a large %age of kids on the bus are in the same situation ..hopefully something can be sorted
What really pissed me off though is the lack of communication from the school ( who I've yet to speak to ) , the council ..and the coach companies ..it would appear that none of them planned to get in touch !
They would soon be shouting if I kept him at home though due to lack of transport ....

Quite a few obstacles to overcome ...not least the fact that with concessions we " only " paid £ 300 a year which is impossible to get near ...then you would need a CRB test / licence ..and probably some form of licence to carry passengers ( taxi ?) ..the company who lost the contract are trying to see if it is viable to offer a private arrangement ..which seems slightly ridiculous !
