Well done Kirky and as far as I am aware, you were the only one of us to attend - for varying reasons - bloody great effort tbf. I was there I found you after checking again last night, I didn't twig at first as you changed or had a different team name. How did you find it the stages were good weren't they. I don't think I paced it right as I tried too hard too finish before what I thought was a time limit. I missed the proper route towards get end of stage 1 and short down the easy option which turned out was a much longer route and went through a bit of a boggy area that you had to carry over so lost a fair bit of time, before that good loamy descent into the woods. then had a slow motion comedy off after riding stage 4 well,I turned through the tight right corner at the stone wall that put you down towards the finish, came off landed on my feet but couldn't help going down the steep banking and struggled to get back up. The scout coped well, I think the enduro would have been better though. I think I'll do it again next year. there were two others off here who both did pretty well, especially James Kaye who finished with a great time and seventy something in the masters. Well done geezer whoever you are.

I thought the stages were really good . I thought stage 1 was the hardest , I was knackered by the end of that one . I had a slo mo crash in that loamy stuff . I could see people sat watching so knew it was a potential crash point . I made it through the tricky bit but slid off into the bushes on the right . I thought stages 2 and 3 were probably the easier ones although I had a coming together with one of the marker posts on stage 3 . It managed to tangle up with my bike and took a while to sort out. Also on stage 3 I struggled to find the right line , when it became open . I don't wear my glasses when riding so couldn't really decide what line I should be taking . We are definitely doing it again next year . We stayed for the prize giving and raffle at the end . Pity we didn't see raffle tickets being sold as the prizes were awesome . £700 forks , £700 wheels , £400 wheels ,carbon bars , £130 helmets x3 .

stage one was a bit pedally, I know the bit you mean with the steep loamy bit, I just managed to slide down there and around the corner but you can tell its an area that would have made for many offs. I got back just before 3PM handed my chip in and shot off as I was supposed to be returning home to a birthday meal. Prizes sound cracking, the whole set up was pretty impressive to be fair. I met a few people by chance that I vaguely know and made a few part time riding buddies to have a good chat to (of course not when climbing). The climbs were brutal and odd bits like the connection from stage 1 and 2 were to steep for me so pushed up but I think I only saw one guy or goat pedalling up, he then collapsed at the top for half an hour so seemed counter productive. Stage 4 was good but the slog out of the riverbed was horrible and nearly as knackering as the ride in general. My favourites were stage 3 4 and 5 the best

Yeah there was definitely a bit of pushing. You're right about the slog away from stage 4.lucky it wasn't raining or that could've been messy. We stayed over and ended up having breakfast with a couple of the sponsors and the main organiser Joe Raffertey. He was a sound bloke, telling us about how he sorted the route out with the farmers. All in all, a top weekend

Forgot to say kirky. If you go on rootsandrain. Com and look for your finishing position, there is a camera icon at the side of your name. Click on it and there are some pictures of you

I spent a while on Sunday night trying show the mrs some but couldn't find them until last night, I tagged myself so they pop up now but they all have the photographers name over and low quality so you cant use them until you like £5 for one JPEG. Forgive me if I'm wrong but I don't think you have paid for those ones have you, so how have you managed to get some without the name spoiling them.
I may order one or two of these to look back on when my knees finally give in altogether and I start playing golf again.
