:)Just seen on fb that lower cliff is open!!!! Cant believe I only just found out about it and missed the chance to ride in it in the good weather as i was at degla. So has anyone been lucky enough to have rode it since it opened??? Any changes good or bad???

Rode it on Sunday. Nice initial drop from the top, fast and flowy. Really enjoyed it. First ride in a couple of months following house move, new dog etc etc.
It's been ages since I've ridden FOTD and Monkey Trail in one session. My legs and arms felt it the next day!

I'm off tomorrow, would be tempted to come up and join you. What time are you planning on riding and for how long?

I'm confused about Lower Cliff. Some say that it's open and are riding it and others say it's not officially open but still ride it.. Apparently all the gates and brashing has gone but, I don't know.

I'll give my mate a shout see if he wants to join, makes the drive much less dull! Sounds good.. I've been in touch with Motozulu but he's on nights so can't join the fun.

I know what you mean, it does look like mixed signals, but it did say on chase trails fb wall that the fc had opened it up after a weekend of "soft riding" whatever that means. They usually really play the reopening of a trail up, feels a bit flat...... Also what happened to the cannock section, has it gone?

There have been a few changes. I like it but will miss the Cannock section

I got chance to ride it last night, its smooth with a few jumps at the beginning to get some air. They have also made a couple of the berms look a little steeper. Fast flowing, whats not to like:-D

Sorry I couldn't make it today guys, I decided I had to end it with the (now ex) Mrs and now have the joys of moving all her shit out. We'll organise something in the New Year and I'll be up again!

I enjoyed it.The whole area looks completely different now though with no trees. I can see it getting very windy up there. I like the smoother surface towards the start but I' soooooo glad they didn't use the same material on the whole trail.
It's fast, jumpy and fairly long.. Just what Cannock needs.
I'm glad they've worked on the corners too. You can carry more speed around them now. They still need to be widened a bit and maybe even banked a tad more though in my opinion.
On the whole, still the best part of marked trail on Cannock Chase.

I'll be going up today to try it out - probably just do the dog but incorporate the lower cliff and session it a couple of times.
I'll be up there around 12/12.30 I'm guessing, couple of jobs to do first.

Well, myself and the esteemed Sarky did lower cliff twice - both agreed it was excellent. What struck me straight away was how it actually looks like a cliff now - you didn't get the sense of steepness before but now the trees are gone it actually looks like the cliff it is! adds to the thrill, imo.
Very impressed.
