A rather rainy spell during monsoon season in Chennai yesterday. some guys were still trying too ride their bikes in axle deep floods, more necessity than for fun I'm sure. However it made me think how bad do conditions have to be before you just give it up as a bad idea. personally if it's raining lightly I don't mind a local plod, if it posse it down when I'm out I won't go back to the car, if it's raining hard before I leave the house or I'll tend to stay indoors.

I'll go no matter what the weather
Rather go some where decent If it's horrific weather tho if it's a local plod round I cba to get to wet etc but if gonna be out a decent amount of time few hours then doesn't matter how wet muddy cold it is

I'm a "no matter what the weather" rider, only time I abandoned a ride was in 3 feet of snow, it stuck to my wheels until they won't turn.Managed to still ride 7 miles before giving up.
I do tend to stick to Gisburn (or other trail center) when the weather is "really" bad as it offers some shelter and is never really boggy.

if iv arranged to meet other riders i'll turn up whatever the weather, if im planning to ride alone, and the weathers crap i sometimes go ahead with the ride or sometimes just not bother , so riding alone depends on things and stuff. we've ridden in deep snow, horrendous wind and rain but i absolutely prefer warm sunny conditions

The number of times I have turned up for a ride in pissing down conditions and wanted to just not bother I have lost count of ...but then once you get out there it's never ever as bad as you think ... Having the right gear for the conditions ..should never result in you not bothering ..and could I just say the new waterproof Endura trousers that I recently purchased are a fantastic bit of kit ..everyone should invest in a pair

if it's pouring down I stay in but anything less i will go out if with other people probably not on my own. I will still go if the forecast is for it to rain while I'm out as it may not happen and you have to shower when you get back so no harm in starting early!

+2 for the endura waterproofs. Now I've got them I'll go out in rain (as long as it ain't hammering) but I'll start taking the SS and treat it as a training/weight loss ride. I'll be putting the Chief and Bird in the garage once cleaned and lubed, semi retiring them apart from nice, dry, cold winter days to ride 'proper' trails with others and will be mostly on the S/S this winter, it'll mean boring blue runs but it's all about fitness/shedding some pork for me this winter - so SS it is! Skinny Gaz has inspired me - not enough to do that bloody diet where you have no energy though! feck that, the beers staying too if I do lose any it'll be down to the patented Zulu SS diet.

I'm not to bad about the rain, but I am a little weary about the wind. I dont wanna get blown off a big hill or test my helmet if a big tree falls on it!!!
