Today's ride was a bit of a disaster. Took the short trip to Laggan Wolftrax today and had big ambitions of churning out many miles.
Climbed to the top of the black in horrific weather and then set off. The wind the rain and the slippy rocks made it quite a fun exciting scary ride.
I was riding some sections absolutely spot on and flying through them others were catching me out when I was on the edge of the grip and I was pretty happy with how things were going
Got to the bottom of the rough stuff and if anyone is familiar with Laggan I joined the path where the red and the black meet and then it's a sprint to the fire road.
Started to pick up speed and took the little drop offs pretty sweet and came to the last rock section which is basically just flat rocks up and back down. And got to the top and went flying over the bars and then a Nukeproof mega came landing on top of me
Shifter hanging off bike and my arm in agony and my right hand pulsating in pain.
Thankfully nothing is broken I'm pretty bruised and sore and iv smashed my my £300 Garmin watch but I just need a screw to put my shifter back on the clamp.
Moral of the story. Don't lose focus even if you think you've done the tough bit
No pictures as if was proper grim out there today. L

That section is pretty fast and any part can catch you out, we were at comrie croft in Perth today, cut it short due to the howling rain and the exposed location didnt help either, good to get out though even if it was brief and wet, you survived to ride another day mate

I'm not in the best of moods.

Not good and would defo piss me off but no bones broken or time off work injury which would cost more! This is very true. I'm still here to tell the tale and moan about it so that's a good thing.

parts an clothes can be replaced, missing limbs or dead people cant be. Bikes fixable, jackets replaceable an so is the watch. Black Fridays coming end of the month may take a bit of sting out of it.

I don't know if this would work ..just a random thought when looking at it but before the final polishing process ..would a permanent black marker pen cover the bare metal ? Don't laugh if that sounds daft ...

iv used the nail polish method on a pair of almost brand new forks when i first got the cannondale.it worked fine but the scratch wasnt as big as yours and you have to be careful with the smoothing down so as not to cause more damage........might be worth a try.

Rossco You might want to consider calling these people with regard to the Jacket ..I nacked up a Lowe Alpine Jacket years ago on the sleeve which was repaired as good as new ( or better ) ..where they patched the damaged sleeve they mirrored the patch on the other to make it look as if it was designed that way ...top class Worth a shout anyway ... www.lancashiresportsrepairs.co.uk/outdoor_clothing_repairs.htm
