I have the TLD ones, not worn them yet so can't comment on how good they are.

I have the Dainese in your link .. Fantastic pads ..you don't know that they are there .. Ant & Dave T also have them ...I think Ant felt he should have got a larger size . They work well too ..

Those troy lee's are good, i have them...but they're a pain in the arse to get off especially when wet, which is often in this country, so i'd imagine those pull on type would all have the same problem, next time i'm going for something like these Bluegrass Super Bobcat D3O

Got some fox launch really good, just a shame they don't go down further! Shredded my shins Sunday on a messy bail.
Personal thing here, I prefer having a hard cap rather than soft feels safer!
Windy those 5450s what do you reckon on the coverage? After my bail I'm half tempted for some lower coverage

Coverage is good but they still leave the lower shin uncovered so you still could get a pedal strike if your unlucky

another vote here for the troy lee 5450's.iv had mine a while and are still going strong. a slight niggle is that one of them rubs on my knee so i wear a compression bandage underneath or a pair of cycling tights. other than that i can wear them all day and they're very comfortable

Thanks for the replies, I'll have a look at the TLD ones as they're quite popular

I've just had the troy lee 5040 from crc myself, they turned up on friday, but havent tried them yet as we took our daughter to degla on saturday I made her wear them and seem to have caught man flu from my son and didnt fancy going out in the rain on sunday:-( They seem to fit me ok but Ive only got to try them myself playing on the spin bike. The real test is when your sliding across the rocky floor on your knees though..They seemed to cover 1/3 of my shins but I guess as a women and not being so tall they would cover more.

'Scuse me ...just got to pull you up on something .. Its absolutely impossible for you to have caught man flu ...women just don't get that . What you have ( by comparison ) is a mild cold ...
I've started running by the way ...
