Ayup chaps,i might not be very active on here but I am reaching out to the brotherhood. I have a dilemma, I am due to fly to Egypt on xmas eve for a diving holiday but things aint looking to good, the other half has been in contact with the holiday company who have more or less offered us a straight swap for a holiday in Tenerife, personaly I don't care where I go but my son and his mate are booked to come with us and they are now saying that they want their money back so that they can go to Amsterdam and do what ever it is that the young folk do when they are in "the dam". my wife has now set me the task of convincing the boys that there is some serious mtb fun to be had in Tenerife so that we can still have the planned family xmas holiday. I have trawled the net for info on such activities and although there are a few snippets out there the info seems to be either vague or a little outdated. has anyone got any experience of biking in Tenerife and have any info/links they could share? I am even prepared to take on the logistic of taking our own bikes with us and hiring transport over there to get us to where we need to go. please help a brother out as I cant bear the thought of having to lay on a beach for a solid week! p.s our riding style is more endu...... pffff I cant bring my self to say it but we are more dh than xc

Tenerife is supposed to be awesome mate for mtb, I've never got chance when I've been there but will book a guided day or down hill day with lava trax next time, these guys are very well reviewed. www.lavatrax.com/blog-page/60-general-ramblings/182-2012-lavatrax-design-a-jersey-competitionYou could book a guided tour with them and then a couple of days later follow the same route yourselves so your not scratching around. If you google around no doubt you can find some routes anyway. I think the best stuff though would be uplifted to the top of some mountain and you work way back down some enduro type trails to sea level.
