Firstly everyone, please accept my apologies for not writing much previously due to my crash damaged brain! You might also need to accept some jumbled writing but please feel free to query or chip in.
Please feel free to make any comment whatsoever.
The two biggest subjects on my mind:
1 Till I crashed I was having a great day so please accept my apologies for spoiling the last couple of rides by taking your attention - which I would have died without.
2 I understand forum members had a whip round which was very generously contributed to. I originally felt guilty about accepting this but have decided to accept it with great thanks and put it towards my poor wife's Cardiff accommodation bill. I have been told that Duncan has been holding it for me and I haven't been in touch with him (typical for me lately!) Once again. Please accept my sincere thanks for your outstanding generosity.
Now to some stuff of possibly more general interest to fallers off...
Considering the condition I was in immediately following the crash I am feeling lucky to be where I am now. For the record: - 4 front teeth fixed with new ends - New glasses. Eyesight back to normal (phew) - Cut down face to mouth/chin. Healing ok but probably will always show. - Blood pressure etc. back to normal. - No medication taken now -Physical condition, back to normal. Now walking about 5 miles a day. - Still very tired and need a morning/midday nap.
At the hospital I could barely read or write. Honestly! Since coming home I've worked hard at this and it's back to about 50-70 percent speed. Lets hope I can get the rest.
The accident I had, meant that I have had to report myself to DVLC who will contact the hospital consultant and my own doctor. A likely result is that I will have my license taken, probably for about 6 moths.

Glad to hear you're getting back to where you need to be! Everything will return with time and you'll be back to where you were before the crash.
Also, chicks dig scars.

I reckon you are doing better than me. -had a tooth pulled recently and need one fixing -Need to start wearing glasses -blood pressure a bit high -on meds for various things (wont go into) -physical condition is shit hence buying a turbo trainer -always tired and need afternoon nap (often to be found snoozing in the car on my lunch hour) but in all seriousness I am glad to hear you are slowly getting back to normal and all the best to you on your recovery, it was a mighty off from what I read. If I am honest it scared me a wee bit as I ride alone 90% of the time and thats probably why I take the chicken runs etc (well thats my excuse anyway). You did inspire me ( and a few others i think) to review the first aid contents I ride with, which were upgraded, so at least some good has come out of all this

Talking of med kits, the mother gifted me one for Xmas after detailing the eventful BPW trip. I've got so many guaze pads now I could soak up most of the flood water in the UK atm. Andy, you'll also be pleased to hear that when I was at BPW a couple weeks after we all were the guys remembered my face and were asking after you. We MTBers really are a lovely bunch!

I am happy to share some very personal information with fellow MTBers which I wouldn't put anywhere else. (eg Facebook) We are on a similar wavelength and share similar risks.

Good stuff Andy - keep at it, you'll get there. I've only been out once since BPW, believe it or not. I'll only start riding again if you do. No pressure.
