im hoping to do a swaledale ride some time in the coming weeks. iv only done it once before, and this was the route we did www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=leegoksnnupmosysid like to alter it slightly. doing it anti-clockwise, after the gunnerside ghyl descent and before the route crosses over to the southside of the river,is there any good recommendations of how to finish off the route back to grinton?...............cheers! |

Not a clue mate, I've ridden up there a few times but to be honest I've never known where we're going!! When you thinking about doing this, could be up for it if I'm not working.

no exact date yet roundie, just putting the feelers out for a ride iv been wanting to do for a while. iv got some time off work middle part of january, so can be flexible. from what i remember its rocky alot of the way round so should be well drained, but id like to do it when its reasonably dry as its a pretty tough route. if weathers not good, or others are interested but cant make january we could try for another time.but prefer not to leave it too long.................what does anyone think?

i could do the weekend 16/17th of january, or sun 21st feb. other than that it would be mon-fri. depending on my rota

I've done that ride ...all I can remember of it is the pain of the first climb !
I wasn't that struck ...too much mining doubletrack as I remember ..but we did get it wrong and missed some decent downhill .
We came back following a track along the river ...

The guy in the shop at dales bike centre will be able to help you out with a route Glynn . they have route maps in the shop as well
