Yesterday I completed my first race at the Chopwell Funduro TT which I absolutely loved!
The day start out with registration at 9.30am then followed by a walk of the course in the -2 conditions. With the temperature being so low you can imagine the ground was very hard and there was still some ice patches on some braking zones. By the time practice started the ground had started to thaw and the course was running well. The practice session was 2 hours so I did a run early and a run just before the stages were closed to get used to the changing conditions.
The stages were spilt into 3 each of which you ran twice so 6 timed runs overall. I feel I was riding well but my biggest downfall was my fitness, the biggest lesson learnt was I need to get fitter to compete.
... anyway I had aimed for the top 50% was I succeeded with finished 11th out of 30 in the category and 38th our of 105 overall.

Cheers I'm thinking about doing the Hamsterley TT in Feb, that's if I persuade one of the lads to join me.

Nice one. They're always good fun the NDH events with good banter in between race runs. I can't do the the hamsterley Enduro on the 14th Feb but I'll probably be at both hamsterley TT's and maybe some of the others further afield.

Not what I meant to say Lee.. but I see that's what it looked like, doh! (it's not really THE mumford & son is it???) I meant you'll be the first place fire fixer (or Russell) The rest of us will drag in an hour later

I see, lol!
I doubt that, my fitness isn't up to much at the minute with working away from home a lot. I'm trying to change that before the next NDH event though.
