I think for 15 quids I might be having a dabble too. My knees are fine but my back has been giving me real gyp last few rides - though I'll try Glynn's advice first and lower the saddle by a few mill. I'm getting older so as doubtful as I am about these magical rings - if it extends my 'bike life' - I'm in!

How about chain length did you guys have to renew chains or increase length

My very first MTB (nearly 30 years ago!) had an oval chain ring. Bike kit is just like fashion then, repeats itself. It does, just like any fashion but they do say that the current ovals are vastly superior to the ones of yesteryear
