While on holiday last July in Applecross some of you may remember that I had to travel down to Inverness ( 80 odd miles away ) as my mtb shoes gave up the ghost part way into my first ride . I bought a pair of Bontrager Evoke DLX shoes for 100 notes and have been very happy with them until yesterday when this happened ...the rubber tread came away from the area around the cleat As can be seen there is still loads of tread ..so I was more than a little peeved that this should have happened on a shoe that's only six months old .. I don't usually keep receipts ...but for some reason I had kept this one and upon ringing Alpine Bikes at Inverness and explaining my tale of woe ..they said that I had a very good chance of a claim but would need to inspect the shoe first . Not wanting to travel the near 200 miles up the road I asked if there was a branch closer to home and this is where I got lucky ! It transpired that they had shops at both Innerleithen & Glentress ..so a quick phone call to Inners first concluded with the fact that they were closed for redecoration ..but more success at Glentress where the manager was also very positive about doing something for me after inspection. Striking while the iron was hot I hightailed it straight up there ..where without any quibble my shoes were swapped on the spot for the exact same . Now that's what you call customer service ...huge thanks and appreciation to Alpine Bikes m.tiso.com/alpine-mobileMy only regret is that I was at Glentress but didn't have time to take my bike ...soon though ...!

Cheers ! I really like them ..the part where I thought there would be issues ..the ratchet closure hasn't flickered .. Very comfy ..and enough tread when walking / hike a bike is the only option ( which is quite regularly in my case!!)

I have to admit that my Shimano XC65 (I think), over 2year old now have also been great and the strap is great...my only mistake was buying them in white!? Lol... It's great when you get good treatment from a brand/shop!
