Looks like SRAM are upping the 1x11 game.
SRAM announces NX 1x11 drive train
By my calculations the whole lot should cost around £250, and the fact that the 11-42 cassette will fit on a standard free hub instead of having to change to XD looks like a bonus.
Will we see an alternative price comparable option from Shimano soon?

Yea looks good. My question, would that chain fit/work with my N/W ring I have just now? If so no need for cranks, just shifter, mech, chain and cassette... even better. Although I wouldn't be changing for a looooong time, got a 10spd with a 40t already.

How much does the XT 1x11 costs in comparison? Not far surely! I've always been faithful to Shimano for some reason.

Think my XT stuff was about £145, not including cranks or NW

The XT 1x11 is coming up at about 170 nicker in CRC - still a whole lot cheaper than SRAM.

Ooh no - is the SRAM with cranks then? I don't really want the cranks tbh - my current XT's are perfectly ok just yet. Could you get the SRAM stuff without the cranks? would it be compatible with XT cranks?

Consider it equal to the Deore range... Perfectly acceptable.. Depends on your level of snobbery..

Cranks are listed in the article at £92.00. Would have thought as long as your single ring is compatible you could re use your existing cranks.
So without cranks you'd be looking at £160'ish for the SRAM set up.

Mine does this same as my old 1x10, with the 1x10 I put spacers in between crank and chain ring sorted it, but chain line looked bad when in high gear. It doesn't bother me as much with the 1 X 11 so ive just left it

Why does anyone pedal backwards, anyway? I'm surprised you know how to pedal forward I do it because I have a Hope hub and it makes a nice noise ..saves me sticking a lolly pop stick in my spokes !

Will move the spacers over to the left side and see how it lines up .. Plus try it with the shimano Chain see if that works .. As some people have said it helps can't see how but I'm willing to try ..

It's more so if you want to move you're pedals bike or coming up to something and you just want to spin back to get your pedals at the right point .. Or before you set off and just spin your pedal back .. I know will had the problem with his hope expander on his 1x10 set up I never had the problem with my 1x10 set up with the one up .. Expander .. But will see if I can find a fix for it .

Apparently it is a common problem...ive been told that if you use the SRAM chain (even with the rest of XT group) rather than the Shimano or KMC, it solves the issue. Something to do with the design and flex of the SRAM chain.

I'd recommend the X1 1000 or GX from Sram, over this, or wait until the 8100 set comes out later in the year.
