Sorry Gaz, I accidentally posted the wrong thing there just before my battery ran out(the other topic we discussed). Details of the MTL below. The guys that organise the supported challenge ride haven't put the date up on their site yet so I will keep my eye out for it, it is normally September though. However as I said Gaz (windy) is up for doing this around may time, I may join him if I get myself fit enough. www.idonohoe.com/mountian_bike9.htmThere should be a down load able map on there if not there's plenty of others on line for the Mary Townley loop.

She was some rich bird, one of the townleys who used to own half of burnley, Townley hall in Townley park was her doss house. She pioneered for a large connecting loop of bridle way to be developed for her and other like minded folks to ride her horses, now of course all good for mtb. Many parts of it are used for shorter loops through Calderdale and Rossendale however the full loop is there as a nice challenge at 47 miles and around 7000ft climbing. It uses lots of fun descents and some notorious climbs like Rooley moor (cotton famine road) that climbs up from Rochdale to the top of lee and cragg quarries.
The dwarf with ample bossom was just for Gaz. It's the way he likes them apparantly.
