Featured in this month's ( March 2016) edition they have a section on Flow Trails and managed to totally cock up the best way to ride two of them ... As the original author of the Bolts Law route ( I was the first to realise the change of status from path to bridleway ) I put together a route starting at Edmondbyers on the Lead Mining Trail ..and sent it to Tom Hutton which got featured ..I was meant to meet up with him and Steph Duits but couldn't meet them on the day they came up ..but did get a name check in the mag thanking me for the route ...it has featured a few times over the years but they seem to think they know better and have changed it to start in Blanchland ..which means an un-neccessary road section at the end and in the process cutting out completely a great bridleway descent into Blanchland ( I thought these people were supposed to be mountain bikers ..not roadies) ...the original way is best and if anyone is planning on riding this for the first time ..pm me and I will put you wise ! This was also long before it featured in a guide book : Beyond Hamsterley too! The other one they cocked up was the Rosedale Abbey ride ..which I gave directions for ..for the benefit of Glynn in the forum rides section recently ..it's best started and ended in Lastingham as per the directions in that thread which ensures that you are still fresh for the best singletrack section at the beginning of the ride ...instead of being totally goosed at the end .. Fucking amateurs!

Could be Glynn ..but to swap out a great bridleway drop for a totally boring section of road is inexcusable... This is the first copy I have bought for quite a while and the reason I stopped buying was that I felt there was too much in the way of regurgitation of routes ( which was the main reason for buying in the first place ) . The reason for this month's purchase was the Skye feature ..which they managed to cock up on when giving directions on the pull -out route guide ..having you turn in the wrong direction on a couple of occasions..that really is gross negligence especially as they were keen to stress in the article the importance of carrying a paper copy of the relevant map ! Don't get me wrong though ..I'm not an MBR basher ..it was this publication that got me into mountain biking all those years ago ...but when you are paying nearly five quid for a mag ...at least get the basics right ..
