The one thing I don't like about down hill is the sodding push back up .. Ride down stile cop then that sodding push back up .. Done it twice then I'm bored need to pedal .. Oh plus I'm shiit.. So crap my pants on the way down

even though I`ve not done any xc for 6 months I`ve been out riding the froggy a few times with matt and some mates.i said I wasn`t bothered about another full on dh bike after smashing me shoulder at hamsterley a couple of years ago but when I got the chance of doing a deal for this kona operator last weekend I just couldn`t resist
Nice looking Kona! Steel City this year? I'll be watching again, might even bring the camera this time.

Not doing steel city but going to try to get onto the Yorkshire mates race series,o lying trouble is the senior/master /vets categories are all in together and that means I'd be up against guys almost 30 years younger than me!!

Thought you liked a challenge Paul ! There's no substitute for experience ... it was a nightmare trying to get an entry last year as it`s so popular so can`t be bothered with the hassle this time.

all you need to do is a few 20 ft gaps and a 10 ft drop and your back mate.

DH is one discipline that doesn't really interest me... Heavy bikes... Padding... Up lift, or hike a bike... Over and done with to soon... I like to be out amongst a group of lads.. Chat, banter... 30+ miles.. Much more fun! but you said you could fancy one at the top of the page
Have you ever actually rode DH? Take it from someone who has, a lot, none of what you have said there has any resemblance to the reality, Here's a video Tim did of a days dh riding, as you can see it looks totally rubbish And riding a dh bike doesnt make anything easier, you tend to arrive at stuff slightly faster which means you have to be better / work harder

In general DH bikes are heavier and unless you fancy blowing out your arse, riding them up an hill aint going to be easy but thats not saying its a sh*t discipline, i admire all types of riding myself, well, not keen on road but again that doesn't interest me but some it does. Riding DH is fun if that's what you like, personally i prefer going downhill rather than pedalling up an hill, but i wouldn't be interested in a full on DH rig, i have ridden one and i enjoyed it but since most long travel trail bikes can handle it and they do tend to be lighter id prefer that type of bike. The video you posted showed it can be good fun, the trails in the video i would have hated, too technical for me, im more of a bike park type of guy, smooth trails with some jumps and drops, few rocks here and there to make it a little interesting, to you that may be boring. He never said anything about the riders mate. Chillax brotha much love init Duke

This isn't an insult at all...nor was it intended to be..its one mans opinion of a discipline... and i stand by it... i don't see much chat or banter... just someone ragging a bike downhill.. if you enjoy it!! good for you!!...
