And gone from lock on's to push on's? I took advantage of the planet x mega sale and did a fairly big order for £30 or so. One of the items I put in the basket were Oury push on grips. I've been finding my hands have been taking a beating of late and I was curious going to a grip with no nasty plastic inner tube would improve things. I've got some bar glue and some wire to put them on with, is this going to be enough to stop them slipping or have I wasted my money?

Usually a skoosh of hairspray inside them when you put them on is enough to make them set in place, the hairspray will harden quickly,if you want to take them off, a srewdriver down inside them and spray some wd40 inside, come off easily after that

I tried the push on grips (forgot the name - big thick rubbery things they were) they were comfortable enough and never moved once but were made of cheese and the ends started to disintegrate after one summer of riding. And they were an utter, utter bastard to get off - never again will push ons darken my bar ends. ODI Yeti's for every bike I own and ever will again. Thank me later. EDIT:- This was them - in hindsight I should have tried the normal as the extra chunky were probably a bit too thick, I might try them again on the SS rigid tbf, the extra damping is deffo a bonus and as that is now just my 'around town' bike hopefully they won't start falling apart after 3 weeks. Using Ruffian's and commencal's own brand half lock on's at the moment. They aren't bad, but I feel like they could be better! Will try and report back.

I just got a set of cheapo cube ones and they are fine. Don't find they move too much (need a wee straighten now and then). Tough to get on and off but very doable. I found the push ons I got were a bit shorter than the lock ons which suit my unfashionably narrow bars better

I've used some Syncros ones on a Scale I had...to be honest, not a problem whatsoever...and obviously a few grams lighter...if I recall correctly, I was told to spray a little bit of GT85 inside and push them in...after a few minutes, they are "glue" to the bars...not a chance of them slipping! However when I did my first custom built, I tried a few others and ended up on the ODI's Rogue...thicker and very absorptive and comfortable. Also seen some really nice Ergo's with only the inside lock on which seems a good idea! But to be honest don't really see the point of lock-ons, except maybe DH!?
