Hello all
Very soon I'll be making a start on my first build (Hardtail) and would like to know what tools, lube or cleaner are a must before I start, also if you can offer some advice I would appreciate it.
Carbon frame with a press fit BB Shimano XT drive chain Shimano SLX brake set
Thanks in advance

You will love it! For sure a good torque wrench... I would also buy the Hope press fit BB...I had it before and it is great and trouble free, and you will never need to remove the sleeve from the frame again, just replace the bearings if needed...however you need Hope's special tool! Obviously a good grease ideally with Teflon! Building your own bike is great but an expensive affair...try and get some carbon bars too. What size wheels, and which frame?

Good torque wrench and good quality sockets and hex bits - cheap ones don't always fit well and chew the bolt heads up. Decent proper cable cutters - not general side cutters as these flatten the cable and make it fray. Decent cassette tool and bottom bracket spanner too.

Thanks for the replies gents.
The build is just to ride to work as I have a full sus and will never ride a road bike, spec is:
Cube Reaction GTC Pro 27.5 Frame. Superstar Components bars & grips Superstar Components custom wheel set. Nukeproof Electrons flats Charge spoon seat Rockshox 100mm forks
Looking forward to getting it built and learning more about bikes, will post some pics when done.

Look forward to this - I had the same bike for a couple of years and loved it, though mine was the alloy version.

As its press fit bb you should really get yourself a press fit removal tool and an insertion tool, you can joey stuff to make them yourself or you can buy the tools from superstar which aren't that expensive
