Greetings all. You may remember that because of my head injury, DVLA withdrew my driving licence for a minimum of 6 months from the accident date of 16 November. This is 16 May, so I have recently re applied to drive.
Yesterday I was checked over by a consultant at Derby hospital. He's not seen me before so this was effectively a check based on my medical records plus me appearing to be functioning OK. (Imagine the pressure!) Inevitably there were some admin queries (thanks to spanning the Welsh and English admin) but I was well prepared with all my own supporting paperwork. Fortunately I will be reported as OK to drive. Phew.
With luck and hopefully no admin glitches I should be back on the road in May.
BTW I'm running loads and getting plenty of miles in on the road bike............ thanks mainly to DVLA. Don't know if I got the balls ( or Glennys's permission) to risk the other half of by brain on the MTB yet...............

Get in touch and hassle all you like.

Glad to hear you're getting a much needed all clear from the doctors and you're out and about!
Hopefully you will be able to get back out on the mtb eventually, would be a shame of you didn't.

A bit of overdue good news.
Getting my Driving License back was expected to take another month as there was an admin glitch between the NHS and DVLA (I am describing that politely!). The last estimate was for mid June, however I got it today. Phew.
That doesn't sound much on here but phewee...

Thanks to loads of running and road biking (as you do when car less) I'm fit enough. I have a backlog of commitments and stuff to do now I'm driving again, plus I'll have to do some fancy footwork with Glennys. My plan is to start MTBing carefully. Thus avoiding divorce.
It's just crossed my mind....I was talking to Gaz the other day which involved a moan about getting my licence back.... then two days later it comes. I think Gaz must have been giving advice to DVLA!

Not a bad idea.. Even Andy couldn't fall off at the Pines does that mean you`d put your hatred of the pines to one side and turn up just for the banter?
