Smashin mate, i've made a promise to myself to enter a race next year, i'll be 52 yr old, i see other guys my age doing it so why not, gonna enter the King & queen of the hill enduro at Tweedlove next year just so i can get it out of my system so i can say i did it at least once, i don't care what position i finish as long as it's in one piece, good luck with it This +1 I'll be 53 and am determined to do at least one next year. The race plate will be a cherished possession!

Thanks guys!
Yes i was waiting all evening for the results to be posted online. We got given print outs of our personal times and leg times but we had to wait for the full results leaderboard to be posted online... 14th / 89 is alot better than i expected!
Unfortunately, i didn't take any pictures. There were a few Go Pro's running in the group i was riding with and there was meant to be photographers there. I didn't take pictures because my phone was playing up and simply didn't want to loose time. Lost enough with the multiple piss stops and waiting for 15 riders to swipe through their Trackers at each checkpoint!
If i find any pictures from the event then i'll post them up. Ill hunt for some videos on Youtube later!

Thanks again I'm gunna look around for some local events. Its the IOW Cycling Festival this month, hence all the events taking place. The only other MTB event that looks decent is the 4hr Endurance race... The rest is road or cycle path stuff Cant wait to ride it again. Hopefully, i'll be able to fly along. They change the course and the checkpoints each year but at least i'll know what the events like. Maybe, i'll get a GPS App too so i wont have to faff around with the map! If it was an out and out marked race, the time would be so much quicker, but having to wait around at checkpoints and regularly check the map means you loose so much time

Many congratulations...first for finishing ...and then for finishing where you did. It's great to see the enthusiasm ..just wish I could wind the clock back and have as many years in front of me as you do! My last event was 14 years ago when myself and my brother entered the vets section of a trail quest at Kielder ( our combined age had to be above 80 ) ... I'm 3 years older than him and we just qualified in terms of the age threshold ... Do the maths! We finished 4th in our category...but that finished me in terms of events ...as an individual I am extremely competitive but I realised that it was never going to get any better than that as I got older... More recently I have been a volunteer Marshall at the Marathon Events at Kielder ....and it's always nice when the competitors remember to thank the guys who have stood around all day to ensure their safety and enjoyment! Good luck for future events ...look forward to reading about your further successes!
