Just a guess but he's selling two bikes, I assume when his mega goes he wants to replace it with another full suss bike so he still has an every day bike and when his ti rigid goes he gets an occasional toy DH bike? There is no excuse for arranging a date to try the bike, asking me to hold it for a month until that date (which was last weekend) then when I try to arrange firm time not even having the common courtesy to reply and let me know what's going on despite being active on here. Basic manners. Fair enough, that's naughty

Basic manners. ooooh whats happened? Just Jay being one of the usual time wasting knobs you come across when selling a bike I guess... More fool me for thinking he was actually genuine. I don't actually care that he doesn't want it now, it just would have been nice for him to actually reply to the PM's and explain he had changed his mind rather than just blank me as I've now wasted a whole month of selling time holding it for him waiting for his pay day and his work commitments... Despite my weekly messages to check he still was on track for getting it 1st Nov. I wish people wouldn't say they want a bike when they can't afford it!

Your account of the way things went isn't totally accurate, is it Rach?
The first thing I'd like to explain is the whole 'holding' the bike claim. Yes, I asked you to hold the bike and offered to pay a deposit for you to do so, you refused the deposit saying 'it would complicate things'.
Upon your refusal of the deposit I actually encouraged you NOT to hold the bike and to sell it on if the opportunity arose.
We originally pencilled in the date of 1st November for me to come and view/buy the bike. My circumstances changed and it became apparent that I was not going to be able to make the journey on that date.
I advised you of this and suggested a new date which was the 11th November.. You neither agree or disagree with this date and instead suggest that your partner, who travels a lot, may well be able to deliver the bike!
We then get into a conversation about how/why/when I travel to your part of the country but still not confirming any dates for pick-up or delivery of the bike.
You sent me another message stating that you were available for half term which you said started on the 24th October. I tried and failed to rearrange things my end in order to make the trip within half term.
I agree that I didn't let you know about this and I also agree that I failed to reply to the last message you sent me.
I can only apologise for this and ensure you that I wasn't ignoring your messages as such.. I had every intention of getting intouch but, after certain events, I completely forgot. I had a few very dark days and after being sent home from work due to me, absent mindedly, almost putting 415v of electricity through my body, locked myself away from the world.
For this, I apologise..
So, perhaps we can refrain from name calling, grow up a little bit and, if you feel it to be necessary, discuss this further in private...?

Back to the topic in hand I have decided to get a 2014 mega comp, put Saint brakes on it, reverb stealth, 1x10 with top guide and save myself a grand, for the same bike minus an 11th gear and colour scheme That grand is 5 full days tattooing!

Sounds like a plan Stan!
A grand saved for an 11th gear and a bit of paint makes good sense, look forward to seeing it on here. There are a lot of Mega's about but that's for a reason. Having been out regularly with Jay's I have to say I bloody love the bikes. I was so close to getting a black Mega TR when I got my F/S...if I am ever in the market again for a new boingy bike it will 100% be a Mega TR.

Funny you should say that but I was looking at the 2015 Mega TR's yesterday. Still have my heart set on an AM though. My line of thinking is 1 x 10, chain device, 170mm, possibly carbon rims, Chris King hubs... Just ideas at the moment.. I'm going to wait a couple of weeks to see if my Mega sells, if not, I'll just buy a new frame anyway haha.

For this, I apologise.. So, perhaps we can refrain from name calling, grow up a little bit and, if you feel it to be necessary, discuss this further in private...? No, it's fine I don't need to discuss this by PM. I think if you read my messages I replied to your suggestion of the 11th with 'I can't do Mon-Fri' with the 11th being a Tuesday if you check your calendar. The next sentence in that message suggested my partner could deliver the bike to you as he is a HGV driver. To which YOU never responded. I am sorry to hear about your accident at work but I would like to point out that I have waited a good few days watching you post actively in other threads before posting the previous message yesterday. Considering how polite and friendly you'd been in your previous messages your rudeness did shock me. Manners cost nothing and in all fairness you have to admit the scenario is pretty much identical to the usual selling a bike pain in the arse stories - all it's lacking is an offer of a swap for an Xbox.
