How did it go Andy? I should have come out but had been on nights and was knackered - the Chief is STILL in the garage covered in mud from Sunday too, tbh. If I can be arsed to clean and lube it and clean my kit I'll be out tomorrow morning.

I couldn't find anyone to go so I didn't. I'm up for tomorrow if you are... (and maybe Malamute if his hangover has gone)

Andy bad news mate - just had the bike on the stand, chipped some of the mud away and my rear mech cage is snapped!! the inner side of the cage arm is missing around the bottom jockey wheel - feck knows how I finished the ride and rode home like that. Tomorrow no bike then mate, sorry. Not got the time or the money to buy a new one and I am nowhere near fit enough right now to even attempt the Donkey on my S/S, think even the Dog would be pushing it a bit. Soz mate - there's another bloody 50 quid I've got to find

A brilliant offer and what I have come to expect off you, but thanks mate, I won't. The way I am riding atm I'd probably wreck yours and have a £100 bill instead of a £50 one I'll go out on the S/S and see how far I can grind before I have a cardiac

Shit front mech gear changing on a muddy climb...not having the pussy cog set up right...trying to go from little ring to big ring while still in the pussy cog (forgot what gear I was in)....all kinds of wrong and all my wrong sooner I go 1x10 the better... I'm a little fluffy clouds and iRide is probably right, pussy cog not worth the hassle.

We'll do the Dog mate but I apologise in advance for the amount of waiting around you will do. When I was fitter mid summer it still took 3 stops to do cardiac on it. The pain will serve me right for being a twat and not setting things up right. 10.30 up Swinno's mate.

Great ride with Andy today - I managed better than I thought on the S/S and have decided that this winter I are mostly be riding the S/S. Sometimes no gears is better and simpler, it's a great feeling to have done the Dog and only stopped 30 times Seriously though Andy is great company and a really fit bloke - as witnessed by him talking, without drawing breath, the whole way up Cardiac to another couple while I was breathing out of orifices I didn't know I had. I can only aspire to that fitness level and it's made me determined to hit the Dog on the S/S this winter and then the Monkey when I am fitter. The Chief will stay in the garage unless it's a 'special ride' this winter. Cheers for inspiring me mate and I am chuffed the Mrs is making a good recovery. See you on the next one and thanks for waiting around for me huffing and puffing on the climbs.

Cheers chaps. Yes another nice ride, and dry so all I've done is lube my chain after which makes a nice change. MZ has diplomatically forgotten to mention that I was so busy yakking and not concentrating on one swoopy bit that I fell off. Serves me right. I've awarded myself the "dick of the day" award.

Looks like burton's Hope ride is off then.
What time are you aiming for at Cannock and what's your plan? I might be up for that.
Mrs W is beginning to wonder what I'm up to. "Just nipping over to Cannock dear for a spot of MTBing". It's a good job I come home dirty and with skin missing and she knows carpet burns affect both knees and elbows not just one side.
