5tew you're goin to have to put your foot down and show her who's the boss..............like what I do! andy i'll sort out a route. but some trails have been ruined by DCC and some will soon be a no-go zone with all the rain we've had lately, but im thinking of going over to the other side of ladybower from where we went last time, or a Jacobs ladder route, or a wildboarclough/macc. forest route, which would mean meeting at the cat & fiddle the other side of buxton.

Hmmm . I might fancy this myself but I am so unfit .I've not been on the bike for ages . And after just spotting that "lots of climbing" comment it might be too much for me

I've just remembered about the traffic though . I went to Middleton last week(same direction as peaks) and the traffic is horrendous with the works on the M60 . I'll have to see if I can find an alternative route before I commit to this

Do you know a start point yet Glynn? It would help if I knew where I was planning my route to it'll either be hope train station approach road, or the parking laybys opposite ladybower fisheries www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=420259&y=385981&z=120&sv=420259,385981&st=4&ar=y&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf&dn=573&ax=420259&ay=385981&lm=0 ill sort out a definite route so we know the exact meet place

Hope Station is a good meeting spot and easy to find. Even cheap, crap maps mark stations boldly.
Something like we did last time would suit me nicely. I've got some new stuff to fall off in.

Thank god that subject is out in the open.
I hadn't forgotten about it but was reluctant to mention it.

ok route sorted. meet at hope station approach which apparently doesn't have an active postcode, which is weird. www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=418027&y=383241&z=110&sv=418027,383241&st=4&ar=y&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf&dn=552&ax=418027&ay=383241&lm=0 route is - up winn hill, down winn hill (cheeky).up whinstone lee tor, down whinstone lee tor, fairholmes for refreshments, up sceaming mile, down suicide brake. up to hagg side, down hagg farm switchbacks,up wooler knoll down hope brink....end.approx. 20 miles,or we could cut it slightly shorter, and miss out suicide brake cutting out one climb and descent. we could also miss out fairholmes and go up crook hill to make it shorter again.still some climbing to do tho.

What a coincidence!
Most inconvenient.
Now I'm not doubting your story but I can't help being suspicious that there is something about your bike that you're a bit embarrassed about.
And it ain't the pedals.
