Ok, so I serviced my recon air fork for the first time the other week and all was good. I have noticed on my rides it seems to bottom out a lot easier now. I used to run about 100psi and it would rarely bottom out, now I have put in 110/120psi and it bottoms out loads. Its not loosing air as its still at 110/120psi at the end of the ride. Any suggestions or is it just that the fork is a bit softer after a service ( feels bouncier) and I just need to keep upping the air (but 120psi is the max for my weight on the fork leg). Seems fine other than this issue.

I find it baffling that people still use figures on a sticker stuck to the fork
Run it at around 25% and ignore the pressure figure your putting in, just make sure your kitted up when doing your sag

^^^ What he said.
To a certain point, ignore the stickers stickers, people, Internet etc.
Mess with them to till they feel right.
Experiment, have a play, fiddle and fart about until you find the settings that feel right to you.

I just bounce up and down a bit and see how far up the fork leg the rubber o ring goes.i have absolutely no idea how to set rebound and compression though,so set them somewhere in the middle.

If someone weighs more they need to have volume spacers in etc. if they put 1000000psi in I can't imagine it being good for the fork like? When all they need is a volume spacer to stiffen it up i agree with ignoring the shite stickers and what people say you should have. I've got my forks hard as fuck lol

The stickers are only meant as a base to start from, then you set your sag and make a note of the pressure once your sag is cock on. S'what I do anyway.

Sag etc all seem good, noticed today that the lock out is not working, just makes the fork a bit stiffer, but not locked as before. I have deffo fecked something up so might have to strip it down and start again......

if lock out is not working when you restrip, before you rebuild put the damper the right way up and cycle it a few times fully, open first to get the air out this will usluly do it, make sure you dont then push it when upsidedown again, i allways lock mine before removal

Richard, so after cycling it a few times do you leave it pushed in or out! Maybe a daft question but not too sure what you mean, but you could be on to something......dont know what, but worth a go I say. Cheers.

I love the fact people spend £££'s on forks which offer all these adjustments and dont even bother spending time setting them up properly. You have to experiment until you get them set up to how you want. Everyone is different in size and style of riding, aswell as where you ride, so set up will be different for everyone.
Where im only running very short travel forks, i dont have much in the way of adjustments, however i still spent time messing about with the settings. This weekend, im going to run them with a few more clicks of preload and a slower rebound, just to see like

My issue is just the fork is not quite the same since I serviced it (Fecked around with it) and compared to how I had it set over the last 2 years I now seem to need way more air, yet it still bottoms out. 100 psi used to give me around 25% sag and rarely bottomed out, yet now even at 120psi ( and less sag) it still bottoms out so I reckon I have screwed something up, thats all, no biggy though.
