Bit of an eBay bargain picked up an 09 Stevens Glide Max frame with an RP23 today, Started lobbing it together but the light went so only snagged a single photo in a half built state. Needs a new seatpost the one the guy gave mes pretty ropey but works not 100% sure on the purple rims though haha. More tomorrow hopefully take it for a test run too.

Was a good deal for one, shock had just been serviced and its similar in terms of geo to a Cube Stereo, just not quite the same travel as the cube. Speaking of travel the Toras up front sound like a bag of spanners under compression so I need to service them. Also had the fun of no rear brake after all the fluid started burping out the levers diaphragm. Bike chugs well up hill even with the rear shock open, going to lob my Fox Aplines on the front for now travel wise its only 100mm but I only served them recently. Going to try some gasket paste and a new shim in the brake lever tomorrow see if I can revive the lever if not ill pick up a new pair bit peed you cant get spares but to be fair they get abused these anyway. Have to get a pair as they wont match bloody OCD kicking in. Must not look at shiney new brakes! Anyway, heres one of it built up

Well, New forks here plus some other bits. Rear brake failed internally so i went shiney Little bit of hope and the new RS Revelations And on the bike deciding on the steerer length still. Looks a little more aggressive than before! Tyres are temporary ill put the proper ones on tomorrow along with a front rotor. Tempted to plastidip the rest of the frame black now though

Nice looking bike and liking the upgrade process. I've got the same cassette and expanded as you with a 30t upfront, life is sooo much easier now!

Finally I have a new mech an shifters! not taken a photo of the shifters but they are SLX Ispec's making the bar much much neater. Set the new chain up, its big! haha didnt go for a pootle because its peeing down out there but, one photo just a niggly problem with the shifting from 11T to 13T it skips cant set the mech quite right for some reason. More faffery needed!

Got her out today been feeling pretty low last few days thought some time out would help, shifting like a total pig which is my own fault had four gears rest were skipping or just off, trails ide bodgery gave me two more. Also came off grazing pretty much my entire right shin on something. Bar that was good fitness is out the window but gearing meant I could go up hills I'd usually walk an I didn't even get to try the fancy new 40T ring. One photo nw need to spam it but I'd say it's finished bar tidying up the chain stay protector

Had a horrible bimble today with me mate, didnt do many miles owing to how sticky everything was. An wet, very Andy kept going through all the puddles which were pretty deep then moaning how bad his bike sounded an wet his feet were. I joined in an yeah didnt go well, front mech stopped working an the water killed what was left of the BB, but hey ho I have new ones waiting! Mmmm, Hope! Also got to use the dropper post really pleased with it made such a difference being able to have the seat just where I want it!

Nope only a double 26-36T so im safe on that one Gears seem a little off at the back think the cables have stretched a little now shifts fine on everything bar the 40T. On the hunt as well for a bearing kit for this pinged Stevens in Germanland an email as the main pivots looking a little ropey. If they cant help ill have to strip an get the micrometer out!

The bikes looking so much better now, gone from a pig with purple rims to something rather neat! Spend abit of time on your fitness and then you can go 1x10 and not worry about front mech messing up again!
I had the same trouble finding bearings for my Maxim. In the end, I used the calipers and ordered the bearings separately on eBay!

In the end, I used the calipers and ordered the bearings separately on eBay! Yeah it does look a hell of a lot better doesnt it! Im solely tempted to get it stripped an powder coated in the new year when the bearings need doing the paints pretty chipped in places an under the chainstay protector its proper mangled from chain slap down to the raw metal. Need to have a look at how I can mount the dropper cable more neatly now I have the reverb, ive fitted a hope dropper collar which helps but the frame mounting which is just cable ties im less happy with. Much thinking and scheming needed. An I am looking to go to a 1X10 ill likely go with a 32T meant to order one last night from superstar while they were on offer but, er forgot! My fitness is pretty shocking though I can smash my mate up hills still he walks while I power off ahead. Got some MTB marathons an other bits I want to do next year so I kinda need to work on it.

Sounds good, what colour are you thinking of? Yeah, thats annoying, its a shame non of the cables run along the toptube. When i first read it, i thought why not run it along the front mech cable routing, but thats along the downtube, so would be just as silly! Could maybe get some stick on cable guides, like this: www.jensonusa.com/!KFtbvOaWHERgG0qCCAmv!Q!/Jagwire-Stick-On-C-Clip-Housing-Guides

Those look ideal! Found some pretty much identical in the UK for £2 so those are coming my way.
Paint wise not sure used to be all into stealthy but now im tempted to go some daft bright colour. Will need to play in photoshop. May get them to powder coat a base and do some overlay work. So many choices
