The new to me trail bike arrived yesterday, I bought it as an ex demo so its not perfect, t's got a bit of heal rub on the sear stays which i'll get sorted over the next few days. Anyway, it's a Scott Genius LT 710, the front end is carbon and the rear is alloy, it cam to me standard with a 2x10 Sram X9 drivetrain, syncross wheels stem and bars. All of which has now been changed for a bit more of a modern XT 11 speed drivetrain with Raceface Turbine cinch cranks and a 32 oval chainring, also changed the wheels to my Hopes with WTB rims and the Bars and Stem are now Renthal fatbar Carbon. I'll most likely be sending the 36's away for an overhall as they are nowhere near as plush as my pikes. Here is 2 crappy pics for the time being

Love it and I also love be the way the cables are internally routed. My 740 looks like it's got spaghetti out front!

Nice Euan, Scott make great bikes. Are the fox forks the goods ones 36 fit 4s? It's the 2015 Fit cartridge which is not a bad cartridge ether. I have since realised what the problem was with the stiff forks....... they were locked out lol, they are now very plush.

Given your experience with mtb I imagine your oversight with the lock out was due the remote mechanism on the crown and that you had been fiddling with the remote cable not simply a manual lockout switch.

That's exactly it, at least I now know how it all works so it won't be happening again :-)

It still looks like spaghetti lol, it most likely doesn't look too bad just now as I've not got the front lock out cable attached. im sending my shock of to Mojo this week as I'm not happy with it, it doesn't appear to be dropping into its lower travel setting

Let me know if you change the BB height using the screw, I've not messed with mine so don't know if it makes a difference lol.

It's set to its slackest position at the moment but TBH I cant see me changing it as I like a slack bike, I have however had it out and it is a simple process, 2 T25's one male and female, take them out and turn the chip round then do it all up again That's a cracking bike. Nice choice sir! Cheers dude, it rides so well, it feels so nimble and accelerates so well I managed to get a couple of pics on todays ride round Carron Valley I honestly dont think there is a better looking bike on the market but then again I would say that lol

How do you like it versus the Commencal?

When i demo'd the 700 i was blown away too. I remember Carron Valley and right where that picture was taken, fighting off a million midges trying to put my goggles & helmet on and trying to find you. Yeah, you went right and I went left lol, had to go all the way round the loop again lol How do you like it versus the Commencal? I don't think there is a lot in it but it certainly climbs better, feels more agile and lighter on it's tyres but like I say there is not a lot in it, i'd like to keep the Commencal but with another new bike coming next month I think I should really let it go to someone who

Looks good Euan, has the Myst gone yet? Cheers mate, ive not tried to sell any of the bikes yet, I'm not in any hurry to let them go, I'll most likely sell the Commencal first but that won't be till around January, the Myst would be harder to sell so I may end up keeping it, one of my best mates keep threatening to buy a DH bike, if he does the trips to Fort William may become a more regular thing so I may just keep it on the off chance of that happening.

That's fair enough, guess it does no harm in having a DH bike in the collection. I keep changing my mind with mine, one minute I want to sell the next minute I don't. At the minute I'm thinking I'm never going to get my money back on it so I might as well keep it. My fork is 650b compatible so I could easily and not too expensively upgrade at a later date if I feel the need I do want a new trail bike though
