Hans Danpf's can be mounted in any direction, When you say tips for tubeless, is your wheels set up for tubeless?

Get yourself a C02 pump, beats any other method for getting the tyre to seat

I've done it a few times after watching this video below. It's quite easy. But please note that you need to top up with a bit of fluid every 3-4 months since it dries out and it can start leaking around the rim...once I had a bad fall because of this. I now got myself a tiny funnel (bought on eBay), remove the presta valve and add a bit of Stans...makes it very easy.
Take a look at this video on YouTube:

Mine went on and up first time on the Chief's DT Swiss 1700 rims, just using a track pump too.

I personally love the HD's, but I also love the DHF Minnion and High Roller too! I don't think you'll go wrong with any of those tyres you've got (though I know nowt about the ikon., tbf) HD's are pretty draggy, but they offer massive grip on the fast stuff, never let me down, whether Welsh slate or Cannock hard pack and pebbles. I had a High roller on the test bike I rode at Bird and it felt fine, bit faster than the HD's but I only rode it around Swinley forest tbf.

Yes, I'd agree with that - marked trails are normally 90% 'dry', off piste (apart from mid summer) are normally 80% sopping.
High Roller on the front and Ardent on the back at Swinley - really nice combo and fast - but it was mid summer and bone dry so Marmite is probably right about the HR's and mud. I can't be arsed to change tyres for weather conditions though so I go for an 'all rounder'. I'm just about to order a Magic Mary front for the Chief and I'll probably stick a Nobby Nic Pacestar on the rear, when the HD wears down enough to bin. I know the Nobby Nics well as they were on my Cube - as long as you DON'T get the Godawful performance range - they are a very good rear tyre.
