Bored to death at the in laws so thought I would get the Wales thread started with one of the obvious ones. I would like to see some routes around this area that aren't on Snowdon as there must be masses of great riding.

Riding out of llanberis centre. Head for the mountain railway and take the first road that runs to the right behind it. Upto and through the gate there should be a sign for the llanberis path. Up a tarmac hill climb rather steep in places up and past the cafe and the entrance to the llanberis path is on your left after the next pig of an hill.
The llanberis path starts off with some of the steeper and technical climbing you will need to ensure. After a rather steep climb or push up a rocky staircase thee path flattens and smooths out and is all rideable from here up to the staircase that passes under the train track for the final push.
On the way up you'll see an awesome looking trail untying through a valley off to the right and heading back down to llanberis. Don't worry you'll be flying down there later.
Back to the climb. Unless you are superman you'll be needing to push up the long steep staircase. It's pretty hard going to push up. Once up it opens spectacular views down the opposite valley and offers to options. To take the top path which is steeper to start with or as the trains not running to the summit ntil after the ban starts you can push up the side of the train track. This takes you right up to the summit.
Quick photo at the summit and a selfie.
Then back on the bike to drop down the steps or run back down the train line, looking to come off on a obvious track on the left around 500 metres down to the rangers path.
You are heading off down towards the reservoir you can see in the distance. just above mikes head here.
The trail starts of nice and fast with little features to pop off and lines to pick from. As you drop of the edge it stars okay but things can quickly get out of hand with large drops coming in quick succession and massive boulders strewn across the narrow trail. We were on and off the bike a bit here to be honest. Which was a trend that continued down the steep switch backs. The final bits were rollable with caution. A look at garmin shows a drop of 1800ft in just under a mile and a half. Thought it was steep.
It spits you out onto a fast gravel trail that wind speed down the edge of the reservoir.
At the second gate you are presented with a tricky but doable field climb aiming for a sty to the right corner. Don't worry you'll don't need to climb the large hill that you are heading towards.
Over the sty and climb up to the gate again in the right corner. You are now at the start of an awesome descent back to llanberis.
A long wide lane strewn with water bars and broken up in places. Must be two or three miles long but ia over all too quickly. A real blast of a descent and a test of your hopping skills. Once the fun ends it's a gentle roll up to the second farm where you turn right after the farm and drop down their steep tarmac drive into the centre of llanberis.
Pack a spare layer or two along with a couple of spares tubes for this one. Oh and don't forget your camera.
