this is a great little lakes ride, which is low level, so no mountains involved, but theres still some short sharp climbs and your amongst some great scenery. i started it for me from troutbeck bridge, but obviously it can be done from anywhere on the loop thats convenient. its approx 16 miles so allow around 2 and half, to 3 hours. for me it started with a climb immediately on a bridleway which became a rocky stream for a few hundred yards. once at the top its a turn westwards heading towards ambleside through farmland type bridleways before one of the technical wooded tracks down jenkin crag. theres a bit of tarmac around ambleside where it heads to loughrigg. loughrigg fell is a bit of a beauty spot, its very popular with walkers so be a bit considerate with it being busy. (anyone who's interested in walking might want to try here also). once you've made the final climb, this is where you start heading back towards ambleside on a nice fast rocky bridleway. www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=kdhhiplpneroskqz
