Not wanting to put myself through the torture of a Helvellyn hike a bike prior to going away a week later on our Scottish trip...this route should be dry enough by now to give it its first airing of the year... Dave & Jean are out of this one as they will be over in Carlisle ...Ant actually suggested this route as an ideal route for Ingrid to join us again ... I'm hoping that Barkin Mad Munro is free to lead this one ? Who else ? Graham, Russell, Jaco, Nick, our new mate ( and fellow Scot...)(Colin) Johnny from Thornaby ? Anyone else?

Colin was checking out a part of the route to see where best to start.... Only himself , myself & Graham so far ... The weather forecast is cloudy with occasional showers ...but a balmy 16c. Need to keep the "fitness " levels topped up ...I won't be out the following week and then it's Skye... Anyone else coming?

Cheers for letting me know Jonny... It will be into June now before anything local(ish) after this as our trip to your homeland is rapidly approaching I really fancy Timbo's N.Y Moors ride ...which is in the Northern route section so I will canvass opinion on that one for sometime in June . Tasty...

Looks like a grand day out. Hell of a river crossing there as well, I felt moist just looking at that.

Not as moist as Hodgy felt, Ingrid ( my better half ) rode across it totally oblivious of the green slime underneath, I had a wobble but made it, just, then I haeard a splash, a thump and a curse and looked round to see Hodgy trying to get up, he bent his knee back and I feared for his Scotland trip but I think he's ok, Colin did really well to get past him and not get wet and Russell had a dip in with one foot, Thanks to Colin for leading a great day out, I was up there in February and didn't like it at all but it was excellent yesterday in the dry , apart from a puncture , Ingrid and a snapped chain, me a good day was had by all
