It's a few months away yet so we've got plenty of time to fanny about with dates etc.. So far, the 26th, 27th and 28th of August have been proposed. Nothing suggested for July as yet.. For me it is totally weather dependant.. I won't be going if it's pissing down again! Personally, I'm easy going as far as dates are concerned so, make your suggestions now and I'll stick a poll up with the final options

I'm oot - I've got 15 days off earlier in August but am on nights 25,26,27, - don't change the dates for me as I have an idea I might be doing Helvellyn earlier in August when I'm off - I won't get away with 2 weekends away in one month. I'll keep me eyes on this though as I've also got 9 days off in July - so could do Helvellyn then?
Ok then yeah - I'd like to do both rides so I'm proposing...13,14,15 or 19, 20, 21 of August for Whinlatter. I can move Helvellyn to July.

Helvellyn looks insane and evil on some bits . will have to add that to my list along with skidaw once im fit enough . i plan on doing the chase way before these . how long is the chase with monkey and follow the dog and hows the climbs , if its not that bad on the climbs i might come down end of June early July and drop my missis and kids off at my mothers house .
19th or 20th August then for me whinlatter .

Think the Donkey is 15 miles? the climbing seems to go on for ever though. I've gone right off the Monkey - tend to do the Dog with the cliffs chucked in. Much more rewarding. If you come down when me or beansy are about we'll show you the cheekies - loads more fun than the marked stuff.

Dog is 6 miles, only 1 climb. Monkey is around an additional 10 miles. 9.9 miles of climbs Donkey is basically both. Dog & Cliffs is nice like Pez said if don't wanna/can't do both. Still an 8 min climb though to cliffs. Gentle though. The climbs are easy. On a social we normally stop after each stage anyway. Off piste is nearly dry. This is actually VERY accurate..

I'll have a word with Zupoo tomorrow and we'll come up with a date when we're both off work. I wouldn't dream of leaving you alone with him due to his 'hands on' nature

Don't encourage him G - he's being 'humorous' 'Zupoo' is what he calls me instead of 'Zulu' and 'hands on' meaning I'm gay. I keep telling him. I'm not gay, it's my boyfriend who is gay.
