Ticks all the boxes for me. Uppy/downy bits by Rockshox (pikes/debonair/reverb) pedaly/stoppy bits by Shimano M800/Raceface. First bike ive bought and not needed to spend more money changing stuff. More bike than I'll ever need - mind you a tricycle is more than enough bike for me ( yes i have sorted the cabling out)

Wicked...good bike that is! Did you buy new or second hand!? New, they're like rocking horse shit. Everywhere sold out and Whyte are not building any more (new model due July) I rang round loads of shops and got told the same story. The only reason I got this (from a shop in Leamington Spa) was due to to a stock error that they had just corrected an hour before I rang. wowzer, loving that will, what`s happening with the trek? Not sure yet - I do like that bike. Might hang it over the fireplace, I'm sure the missus won't mind. It's a great bike - British made and made for British conditions - lifetime warranty on the bearings. Quick downhill and sticks to the terrain much better than my Trek. Very easy to get the front end off the ground. The only issue I'm having is the low BB (compared with my Trek) prdal strikes galore at the moment.

Of course...now that i saw it on the laptop (rather than mobile phone), its obviously new!? They are difficult to get because they are great apparently, like all the expert reviews online...lets face it...130mm travel is plenty for almost everything and a perfect compromise between descents and climbing. Enjoy...i know what you mean about pedal strikes?! Same here...

How does it feel after another ride then? Getting used to it? Yes mate - just have to adapt my riding for techy bits - I need to pump more where possible to lessen the pedal strikes. When I did, it was much better.

Nice bike. Just watch out for BB wear - mine went after 6 months/700 miles. Admittedly it was through winter, but I was not impressed. It's a RaceFace one. Had it replaced with a Hope one which I was told by the LBS should last longer. Rear wheel bearings went at the same time! Saw an article in the recent (July edition) MBR magazine about their long-term 130C RS and the wheel bearings going on that (although they are Roam 40 wheels, not Roam 30), and they were replaced under warranty so I might have a word with Whyte.
How are you getting on with the tyres? I found them a bit skittish to start with. Have since dropped the pressures a bit and they're much better.
Other than that, enjoy - it's a beast!

I'm interested to know where you got your info on the 2017 model coming out in July Will ? I've been in touch with Wheelbase who have a medium available ( no good !) ...to be told that they won't be getting anymore 2016 models and the bloke I spoke to rang me back today having contacted Whyte to say that they don't have a release date yet on 2017 stock ... For those who like 0% finance they have a cracking deal for June only with no deposit required either...

I've replaced a couple of frame pivot bearings (got mine second hand so no warranty) and the rear wheel bearings and bottom bracket but it does have a hard life. Watch out for the rear brake line rubbing on the chain stay. I really like mine, it's a perfect do it all bike

For those who like 0% finance they have a cracking deal for June only with no deposit required either..My LBS is a Whyte stockist and they rang Whyte while I was in the shop. They said it should have been available end of June but they were behind schedule and the more likely release would be mid to late July. They also said, spec and price would remain the same with a slight change to the colour scheme. I thought about holding on but if the date went back again (as often does) I'd miss out on the summer months.

Cheers for that Will ... I was also talking to / had a pint with my LBS gadgie and sometime riding buddy after a ride yesterday (also a Whyte stockist) and he confirmed that he was going down to the 2017 launch in July and that Whyte were quite desperate to get bikes out there but stopped short of saying that they would be with retailers in July ...but they will be fairly imminent . The Adnams Ghost Ship was bloody spot on though ..real nice pint !
