Looks like four of us to include Colin. Still meeting at the bus station car park but then to find one of the other free car parks ...as this is limited to two hours max.

Superb ride out with the boys today ( I'm using that term loosely !)... We sometimes travel for hundreds of miles in search of new thrills forgetting as we do what brilliant riding is on our doorstep..this is one such ride it has a touch of everything ..gruelling climbs , singletrack to die for and a grassy descent near the end which will have you going as fast as you dare with multiple opportunities to get airborne . Speaking of which it is Sunderland airshow today and in one of the remotest spots of Northumberland we were treated to our very own fly past by the Red Arrows making their way there ..to quick for my camera..but burnt to memory. We also saw and heard a second world war Hurricane . Anyway a grand day out ..big thanks to Nick, Colin ,Jaco & Graham who was an unexpected but very welcome surprise having said that he wasn't coming ..the banter as usual was off the scale...especially when the only Scotsman in our party (colin )on the narrowest section of off camber singletrack with chest high bracken that obscured the track itself found a bloody tenner ! ...you couldn't make that up especially as it probably won't leave his wallet for another ten years ...I think Jaco recorded the serial number .lol Some pics ... Early in the ride ...the climb from Waud House to Wooler Common.. Graham & Jaco Stunning singletrack which just gets better the more you drop It was on this section where we saw the Red Arrows and Colin found his tenner.. Epic!

Looks like a good route. I Nearly booked an holiday cottage in Wooler but decided if we had bad weather that week there may not have been too many options for the kiddies.
I've not met Nick yet on a ride, does he always opt for the Laurence of Arabia tea towel on the head impersonation?

Always.. He reckons it keeps him cool ... I reckon it's because he used to have long hair and he is now bald ( almost ) Funnily enough it was on this very route that I first met Nick ..20 years ago ! He is my longest serving / suffering mountain biking buddy ...a real nice bloke .

Looks excellent that - had to cancel my ride with Euro bob today due to 'family stuff' back in Brum - FFS. Glad you all enjoyed, not jealous, much.

I'd have thought yer mate Nick would have got a buff or something. I wear one all the time under my lid (bandana style) and it keeps the sweat out of my eyes in summer and keeps me warm in winter - and I look like a pirate too (bonus) not a camel jockey
