Is anybody riding anywhere good up North (between peaks to lakes) this Friday, looks like I've found myself at a loose end on what appears to be a nice sunny day.
I've stumbled across a route above Conwy, Drum mountain which looks amazing with a 4mile descent known to be one of the fastest around. However with 4900 ft of climbage I'm going to save it until ive got rid of my wobbly holiday legs.

Very interesting, what time are you thinking of starting Glynn, I've been getting a bit worn out with early starts recently and a bit fed up of driving down to Altringham in that crappy traffic past Denton/Stockport would be pretty much the same but for fun rather than work might just be more bearable.
Would I be looking at the Woodhead pass to get to the start point.
let me know and ill make my mind up tomorrow, and thanks for the offer either way.

9.30 start. A57 takes you much nearer the start john otherwise your traveling through sheffield work traffic. G iv told you theres no need to get so jealous and why have you had to leave the whole bike just for the sake of the seatpost. that sounds bonkers!

yeah...because this was supposed to be a quick return which turned bad...tomorrow ill find out a bit more about how long it will take to get the dropper, and i might decide to go and fetch the bike...however i think i would have to buy a seatpost for the time being since i believe the rigid one is smaller in diameter. Ive been on a ride today on the rigid to keep the legs moving...that was an eye-opener!? lol

seeing as though the quick turnaround didnt happen how about asking them for a loan seatpost? even if its a standard one. i once took some forks back to jejames as they were faulty, and they loaned me some forks till mine came back.
sorry for the post hijack kirky

Think I'm going to head up the dales tomorrow Glynn as I've not been feeling 100% following my holidays, completely knackered about by a short ride on Tuesday morning.
Hope to get sorted for the following Saturday's peaks ride

I had an appointment early doors so stayed fairly local and rode out of Hurstwood over the tops and around Hebden bridge. I was really struggling to start with and considered a fairly short loop, however I just decided to grind it out, the head wind was so strong there was no point in hammering myself to try and bear any strava times. Also took a few more rest breaks than normal and all that allowed me to ride one of my longest rides with the most climbing for quite a while. Knackered when I got back to the car though, thank god the last couple of miles are all down hill. www.strava.com/activities/673488074/segments/16496255331I haven't been around these parts for a while and it's still wet, windy and steep.
