Here is s strange one for you all. I recently bought some WTB tires from planet x on a deal highlighted by one of us on here (13 quid a tire). I bought two ties to try as I thought at that price it couldn't hurt. So weekend past weekend I changed out my previous tires (Shwalbe Hans Damph front & Shwalbe Nobby Nic rear) for my new WTB tires and all seemed well. Returned a few days later to find my rear tire completely flat. Initally thought a problem with my valves or it wasn't seated correctly on the rim. So I pumped it back up and submerged the tire in the bath to find the point the air escapes from. To my surprise the value was good and the tire was seated well. What was strange was literally hundreds of little beads of air escaping from all over the tire wall . Not good. So i gave the tire a good shake about to let the Stans do its magic and now it seems to hold air OK for now. I will check again after leaving it for two days at 30PSI. My questions to all of you well MTB educated people is this, is that normal?? Keeping in mind the front tires is completely fine. Cheers, Danny

Both of mine did this (WTB from planet x) and I've had other tyres do the same even though they are 'tubeless ready'. Stans sorted all mine out.

Not normal at all ...and I have just had the exact same problem with my new Trail Boss light fast rolling to replace a beyond repair tyre wall puncture from last week .. I contacted CRC who sent me out a warranty form by email which I duly filled out yesterday and sent back ..I have just had confirmation this morning that they are replacing the tyre f.o.c...without needing the faulty one sent back ..this has now " righted itself with the Stans seemingly doing the job ..but again as you mentioned ..for how long ? Contact the supplier is my advice ...

Cheers guys, I will contact the Planet x people as it shouldn't be doing it. The Stans may fix the issues but its an issue that shouldn't need fixing by Stans in my opinion. On a plus note though new tires do look nice on the bike compared to used muddy ones. The tires will get a good work out this weekend . I will do a review with pictures soon for your reading gents. Thanks again

Isn't this a common problem with some tyres? I thought that's why they recommend inflating and leaving on the side for a few hours and then flipping it over to the other side for a few hours.

I've had it on Maxis and Geax tyres before but once stans has sealed them up I've never had a problem but I won't let that stand in the way of the possibility of free stuff

This is the difference between tubeless ready and full tubeless , ready means they seat fine but need sealant to seal the walls , full tubeless don't leak through the walls as they are thicker and as such heavier and stiffer (and usually more expensive ) so all in all it's perfectly normal , all my spesh ones have done this to different degrees and people I know with other makes have the same issues . Tubeless ready need sealant , full tubeless don't but cost and weigh a lot more .

Rubber is a porous compound and as such it will leak air out eventually, what you have experienced is perfectly normal for a tubeless ready tyre, it only becomes an issue if there is issues with the rubber and the actual sealant starts to seep through the sidewalls

Then I've just scored big time ... CRC are good at replacing tyres, I had them replace a magic Mary due to it cracking and looking old, they also let me keep the original

I've only had this on tyres a couple of years back with some continental trail or X kings, all the Maxxis, spesh and schwalbe I've had since have never leaked through the side wall.

Ok well that might be the case here then. I haven't been home for a few nights now so I will check and see what pressure the tire has held since last inflating it. I may just need to take more care to spread the Stans better once I have the tire fitted. Cheers all
