The in coming gloop signalled the need to change out my rather slick looking mavic tyres for something more suitable. The rear is more of a concern so I tackled that first. Tyre off unwrapped the new Maxxis Minnion DHF exo and started to feed it around the rim. It felt all too easy and very baggy. noticed then that is a 29er, Doh!!! Bought it with a high roller from a guy on another forum, advertised as a pair of Maxxis, he must have been running odd sized wheels the tosser. stuck the high roller on instead but ran out of Stans so had to leave the front for now, that's a mavic charge pro which is not to bad but I don't want mismatched brands and have a Maxxis shorty 2.5 that should be ace through winter. Stans ordered and front tyre planned for a change on Wednesday. I don't know why my post is formatting or indenting from right to left?

That is funny and such rookie mistake?! How did you not check first, while you were checking the direction?! The bike tart, same tyres is expected and understandable, of course! Good on you for admitting g it! I've read mixed reviews about those tyres...apparently the first version was shit but much improved on the second (assume yours)!

The other was a 27.5 supposedly a set, lol.
Do you mean the mavic quest and charge a bit ropey, I had the early version on the mavics I bought last year but removed them before trying.
Had a couple of rides with the new pro version, the front seemed okay but hasn't been particularly muddy, the rear was spinning out on muddy stuff and slippery slabs, they were good last week when it was dry. I'll shelve them until next May, june when we have 4 months of constant dry weather. (I wish).

Yeah, I meant the mavics... Correction...You will store the tyres, ready to sell them with the wheels when you order some sixthelements...that's what you meant to say!
