Sounds good Rachel, where abouts was the camping? On site, Lothian golf club ring a bell? It was as far from flat as you could possibly be! The red bull tepees, were on grass next to the club house and the finish line was the putting green of the 18th hole! Some good skids pulled on there! Yeah, I know exactly where it is, and you're right, it is far from flat. I drive past it on the way to Glentress

My 2015 DH race bike lands in the UK next week so then I will have to start to think about moving it on and doing some bonding with the new steed! There is also talk of me being put on the 2015 Fritzz to do a bit of Enduro racing, but to be honest I don't like the colours as much as this years so I'm digging my heels in hahahahaha!

I just ride a Mega at the moment but trying to decide if I should buy a DH bike or a fat bike before the year is out! Good luck on the new machine, Bint.

My fiancé is torn between a mega or a mondraker dune at the mo! Buy a DH bike and come racing I have to for sale, my 2013 pulse, or my partners full kashima/formula specked 2012 cube two15 if you're looking! On a serious note though it's probs best time to buy a DH bike as all us racers are switching to 650b and so 26inch bikes are going cheapish.

I'm just begining to get dragged into the dh and any advice would be great!!! Hey Kalli, I think it was 2 months in from first riding a bike I did an Enduro, then within 4 months did a 4x race, got pissed off at the shitty tracks and line choices, so longed after a DH bike, started riding them on my hardtail along with black routes. Got my pulse at end of Aug last year, so 8 months after learning to ride. Did my first race a month and half later! Raced full Scottish Downhill Series this year, and have been picked for Scottish Downhill Academy. Being targeted at Scottish Downhill Series and British Downhill Series next season, with some Gravity Enduro's thrown in for a bit of fun. Long term aim is Fort Bill World Cup in 2016. Lot of work to do between now and then. Ive only been able to ride a bike for last 18 months as prior to that a genetic joint condition I had meant that my muscles formed irregularly and I wasn't physically able to pedal a bike... My my advice would be go for it! Where do you ride? All of the beginner stuff is doable on a trail bike too, if you don't like a feature just go round

I'm riding red mainly and some black xc routes. I live closest to cannock, but also ride places like llandegla and coed y brenin quite often. I just can't jump for toffee and its really beginning to get me down. We went to antur a few weeks back and i stuck to the blue. Even my hubby got annoyed and left me to get on with it. I'm riding a specialized enduro comp.

I'm riding a specialized enduro comp. Loads of people I spoke to at the fox Hunt said the reason they don't do DH is because they don't jump, that honestly does not matter, I started this year not being able to jump, I could fly over stuff out of control, thinking I was jumping, and it's through racing that my skills have built up to doing regular gaps and tables in control. My winter target is the Ae stepdown! As I have a tendency to comfort brake coming into stepdowns. The awesome thing about most races now is that you can always go round/get off and push. Try and get up to Innerleithen, those tracks will show you that DH is as much about keeping both wheels on the ground as it is soaring over jumps. Steep, gnarly, tech. Heaven! It's so natural and old school unlike some of the more bike park type tracks.

Mine is black n white, theres a pic of it on here...if he does go for a dune, get some threadlock on all the linkage bolts, they have a habit of undoing themselves, thats my top tip for the day

Shit! Whereabouts did you break your finger at Bill? I raced it two weeks ago, favourite track of the year - what a belter! That coffin jump at Inners is lethal, it's nearly had me a couple of times, rode my stem out of it making the air blue. Will need to bring new steed to Wales, still yet to ride there, just been touring Scotland! We were hoping morzine next summer but trying desperately to get a house bought so can stop lining pockets of our filthy rich land lord, so it could be year after!

Ouch! The horrible feeling when your front wheel stops going and rest of you is still moving! Those rocks are unforgivable too! Yeah it would be cool to get some riding done! Will keep you posted on any Wales bound road trips
