its that iv ridden with her a few times a few years ago. she started off as a nervous newbie and then really pushed herself and became a good rider, entering plenty of races and getting a few podium positions. riders in the race scene seem to know a lot of the other riders. altho I see your from opposite ends of the country.

Just checked roots an rain, her last race was May 2013. I didn't actually start riding a bike until end of Jan 2013 and did my own thing for 6 months learning to ride it, so just missed seeing her on the scene! I didn't start racing until October 2013

Greetings Rachel I didn't want to jump onto your intro as if I knew you from the other place etc, I was new 'there' when it became 'here'. But I did want to say your blog is brilliant and your riding skills all too enviable also! Difficult to believe you've only been riding about the same sort of time as I have..!! (edit: Ooops, didn't mean to give the impression that I am a competitor, just that I only got my first moutain bike about then also!) That Pentland Hills course looks great, and not too far from my home country of Northumberland, but am I right to think that the course was using trails not usually accessible by anybody? The Foxhunt looked like a fun and exciting event. Almost makes me wish I was forty years younger, and female!

The Foxhunt looked like a fun and exciting event. Almost makes me wish I was forty years younger, and female! It used to be Lothianburn golf course which went out of business at the end of 2013, the land was rented to them by Swanston farm. the land still belongs to Swanston Farm. Scotland has very good rights of access laws, anyone should be able to ride on the land as long as you don't abuse it! New plans are afoot for the area

I heard rumours from locals that after the event it was now going to have work out into it to convert into full time MTB trails
