I'm just exploring the possibility at the moment ..but what do you think? What I have in mind is a Cheviot weekend on the 17 /18th April 2015 staying in the very heart of the Cheviots in the Camping Barn at Barrowburn www.barrowburn.comIt's camping minus the tent..check the website for what you would need to bring. The 17th is a Friday and would be to give folk travelling from distance the chance to get there ..and should they be up for it a shortish night ride on some fantastic singletrack . Saturday would be a full day ride ..breakfast can be had at the Farmhose tea rooms a mere 200yds away should it be required ..I can vouch for the fact that the bacon butties are truly scrumptious ! They can also supply a packed lunch given notice. The ride would take in some excellent tracks incorporating part of the border ridge ...an option for an evening meal could be a BBQ or a bar meal at The Rose & Thistle in Alwinton ( 5 miles away ) ... Sunday ..a short half day ride for those who want it! The area is about as remote and tranquil as you can get and offers some fantastic riding ..bring your own booze for the Saturday evening .. The riding pace would be along the lines that no- one gets left behind .. So fairly relaxed ... What's the rush anyway! I have thrown this out there without asking any of my usual buddies .. But I'm sure that some will be interested . So a fairly inexpensive weekend ( max £ 30.00 accom. for both nights ) .. The Camping Barn gets booked way in advance and the dates I asked for in May '15 had already gone ..so while I can provisionally book these dates it would help to know who is interested fairly soon on a first come basis ...17 riders max .

Sounds amazing and cheap but not able to commit that far in advance, due to school holidays etc.

Sounds like a plan, not sure I can make that weekend though due to 2 family birthdays that weekend [br I have just checked the availability either side of this weekend and there is nothing ( it is very popular ) the weekend prior is Easter weekend and the last of the school holidays ...the following weekend is also booked. I know that on something like this it is always difficult to come up with a date to keep everyone happy ...my apologies if this applies to you ...

A slight hijack but there are loads of other options for forum weeks/weekends A trip I've done and know that can be awesome is a cheap place to stay near BPW the place I stayed was ace and slept 7 with kitchen, lounge free wifi etc, bike wash and importantly opposite a pub, was an awesome South Wales base. Arrive Wednesday night then a day at Afan, a day at BPW, half day at FOD, half at Cwmcarn, brechfa is near by as well. We did, arrive Wednesday ride Thursday - Saturday. Big drink sat night, home on Sunday
Cheap if you bring your own food and plan BBQ's etc, but more expensive if you go out each night for food
Loads of diverse riding for everyone, I have a pick up that fits 4 bikes to do the short drive each day and can pick up from anywhere "midlandsy" as I'll be driving East to west from Lincoln

No problem on that score ... but the reason I have posted this is that a few of us booked this place earlier this summer and vowed to go back ... the riding is natural and different to trail centre riding and in an area which most folk will not have visited ...and which we ( KTR ) know well and would be happy to show you . No problem if you want to arrange an alternative trip .. but I will still run with this for now.
